Hi! We have just had our second child, we had a boys name lined up but we have had a girl. Therefore we are struggling to name her. My DD1 is called Harriet, so please can you help with a name that goes with this?

I instantly thought Charlotte when reading this, it ends in a T sound like Hariet as well as containing many of the same letters, yet the names still sound individual if you see what I mean

I have a Claudia and Harriet was my girl’s name for no.2 (had a boy!). I actually wanted to avoid having two ending in the same sound- so many girls names end in “-ah”, my list of possibilities wasn’t very long.

Congratulations! Verity or Esther - my grandmother was an Esther who had a sister called Harriet, and a friend's little Verity was very nearly a Harriet.

We really like Charlotte, just don't like Lottie or Charlie which she will likely get.

Name changed for this.

I have a Harriet. We chose the name to go with her older sister's name which is Georgina. We then had another girl called Beatrice.

I know another couple of Harriet's one whose sister is also a Georgina and one whose sister is Charlotte.

KirstenBlest · 16/10/2024 18:47

Harriet is lovely.

Alice, Beatrice, Martha, Verity, Prudence, Georgia.
I'd avoid the names that have been very popular for a long time, and the Lily/Lila/Isla, Ellie/Ella, Evie/Eva/Ava type names.
