I know they are very different but I love both equally and I am struggling to pick
which would you pick??

They are both good names!
I think I prefer the name Frank, because I knew someone with that name, but Caspar is a nice name too.

Nicebloomers · 07/10/2024 19:04

Both great names. I slightly prefer Caspar. You could wait until he’s born and see which suits him best.

IHateWasps · 07/10/2024 19:07

Caspar is lovely. Definitely Caspar.

Frank is such a harsh ugly name.

SomethingBlues · 07/10/2024 19:08

Caspar for me too.

Catandsquirrel · 07/10/2024 19:10

Caspar. Would Francis be an option? I much prefer it. Fran for short

user2848502016 · 07/10/2024 19:10

Probably Caspar, Frank just makes me think Frank Butcher

TheArtOfTreeHugging · 07/10/2024 19:17

I really don't like Caspar. Its very twee.

If I had a gun to my head and there were only those two options, I think I'd have pick Frank. But I'd have to nickname him Frankie.

ItWasOnAStarryNight · 07/10/2024 19:19

Don't like Caspar because it looks like it's spelt wrong and also, friendly ghost.

Frank

Moreteaandchocolate · 07/10/2024 19:40

I vote for Frank!

OliviaFlaversham · 07/10/2024 19:42

I love Casper and think Cas is fine for short too.

Frank is very much not my taste so hard to judge it objectively. It is harsh sounding and tricky for anyone who doesn’t say their Rs easily.

AdviceNeeded2024 · 07/10/2024 19:43

The first thing I thought was Casper the friendly ghost too! 👻 sorry!

Frank but could it be Frankland or Francis to be shortened to Frank?

saveforthat · 07/10/2024 19:45

Caspar/Casper will always be a friendly ghost. Frank is OK.

Bestfootfwd · 07/10/2024 19:46

Caspar! Caspar! Caspar!

mrssunshinexxx · 07/10/2024 20:07

Franklin? X

KayEmAy · 07/10/2024 20:55

Casper by a lot

Firsttimebabymummy · 07/10/2024 21:10

Frank. Frankie is cute too. Also known a Frankin do by Linny.

I know lots of white cats/ horses / rabbits called Casper. Can't help but think of the ghost too... although it's a decent name.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 07/10/2024 21:13

Would you consider Jasper to avoid ghost connotations?
Frank to me is a certain type of old man in a certain type of pub (both of the rough East end end variety -reminds me of my childhood)

Justsayit123 · 07/10/2024 21:16

Northern. Sorry. Associate caspar with a ghost and frank as in be frank about drugs.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 07/10/2024 22:35

Caspar -yes, he might get the odd friendly ghost joke from middle aged or older people but that’s pretty innocuous (and it might also get misspelt) but it’s a very nice sounding name (although I personally like similar Caspian even more).

Frank seems dull and a bit trendy in comparison imo (yet another “old man” diminutive) but I guess he’d fit right in with the Ted’s, Lenny’s, Alfie’s, Reggie’s etc at school.

user1492757084 · 08/10/2024 00:57

Caspar.

user1492757084 · 08/10/2024 00:57

Do you like Christopher?

DramaAlpaca · 08/10/2024 01:12

IHateWasps · 07/10/2024 19:07

Caspar is lovely. Definitely Caspar.

Frank is such a harsh ugly name.

I completely agree.

How anybody could even think of calling their gorgeous baby Frank is utterly beyond me. Such an unattractive name.

LastNight1Dreamt1WentToManderleyAgain · 08/10/2024 01:15

Francis? Frederick? Karol? Charles? Gaspard?

BlackToes · 08/10/2024 04:03

Love both. Frank and Frankie a little more than Caspar

GoldenDoorHandles · 08/10/2024 04:06

Both nice but very different. Frank if you want something traditional. Caspar says innovative. I think the friendly ghost thing is just from parents generations, I doubt kids will think of it unless there's a rerelease. So it's a lovely name with a slight risk.

I personally like jasper.
