I'm struggling to choose names that work for twins and are nice individually!
Here are some ideas:
Girls:
Rose
Lydia
Isabelle
Hope
Katie
Hannah

Boys:
Adam
Lucius
Jack
Alfie
Taylor
Jimmy

Bella and alfie

Celeste and Claude

Alfie, Taylor, and Jimmy are not great. A boy named Taylor would be taken for a girl all his life. Alfie wouldn't go with any of your girl names, nor would Jimmy.

The other boy names would go well with any of the girl names (but avoid Rose with Jack - Titanic).

I particularly like Hope and Jack.

Jack and isabella

hannah and adam

Rose Johanna
Catherine Rose - Catie

Adam James

Rose and Adam
Cate and Adam

I see the issue, the girl names are traditional and all nice, the boys with the exception of Adam and Jack at a push are all a bit ‘geezer’!

Adam goes with all the girl names.

No to Rose and Jack!

I’d go for Hannah and Adam or Rosa and Adam, or Isobel and Adam (these slight variations)

I like Jack and Rose best but you've got the Titantic thing there 🙈

Jack and Lydia are also lovely together. Both very timeless names.

Mugcake · 26/09/2024 13:22

Jack and Hannah
Adam and katie

Jack and rose reminds me of titanic

MiddleAgedDread · 26/09/2024 15:14

Bella and Alfie sound like next door's cockerpoos!! 😁
I don't like Hope, Lucius and Taylor. Jimmy I only like a nn for James and I think the trend for Alfie has passed now. The others are all sound classic names and I don't think you can go wrong with most of them in any combination.
i would think about nicknames and shortening them too e.g. Isabelle would probably get Iz, Izzy, Bella etc but Adam will probably always just be Adam!

Not necessarily. I have a Taylor and he's never been mistaken for a girl. I know more boys with that name than girls tbh :)

Fontainebleau007 · 26/09/2024 15:25

Hannah and Adam are my favourites.

VoteLabour · 26/09/2024 15:37

I know one male Taylor and one female. Both American. If I'd not met them, I'd think 'Taylor Swift' and not think it was a boy's name.

RuthW · 26/09/2024 18:24

James and Rose

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 26/09/2024 22:01

Yeah Taylor Swift is so well known now that I can see it gradually going to the girls as opposed to being unisex. It’s the issue with less popular names, it only takes one really famous person (or infamous sadly) and then everyone will think of them on first hearing the name. You are unlikely to get that problem with Jack or some of the others on the list.

Mandarinaduck · 26/09/2024 22:09

Nice list.

Lydia and Lucius (or maybe Lucian?)

Hope and Adam.

Mixing in some others:

Rose and Aidan
Liza and Jimmy
Carey and Jack

marshmallowfinder · 26/09/2024 22:19

Hope and Adam are my favourites but not at all keen on the others.

Fontainebleau007 · 26/09/2024 22:35

@IamnotwhouthinkIam I can absolutely agree with this. Though my sons not had that issue yet and he loves his name it just takes one person. He was named after the actor Taylor Lautner from Twilight! Though hopefully he doesn't do the same thing and marry a girl called Taylor 😂🙈

Hopefully another male Taylor will become famous by the time your son is older and will make the name seem more unisex again 🤞I thought actor Taylor Kitsch might have made it big after Lautner’s career faded, but it never happened 🤷‍♀️

diyisnotmyforte · 26/09/2024 23:01

Arlo and Etta. I don't know where they came from they just popped up!

Fontainebleau007 · 26/09/2024 23:08

@IamnotwhouthinkIam thank you ☺️ oh yes I know who you're talking about, I remember seeing him in a few films!

GentleOliveFatball · 27/09/2024 01:35

Thank you everyone for your ideas! I really appreciate it.
I hadn't thought of Taylor as being a girls name until it was mentioned as in Taylor Swift haha.
I really love the names Lydia (middle name Hope) or Isabel(le) Rose and Jack (not sure about a middle name yet)

I think your list is sweet but I've never liked Hannah and hate Jimmy instead of James.

May I suggest Pandora.

Firsttimebabymummy · 27/09/2024 06:26

Lydia hope is gorgeous

Jack lucius

SwimmerDog · 20/11/2024 18:52

most of your names are gorgeous - especially hope and jack, I think those work really nicely together and separately as well. as a new mum of three triplets i also loved more unusual names like Xanthe and jasper, but they might not be everyone’s favourites. Xx

StormingNorman · 20/11/2024 18:56

Lydia and Lucius is so cute.
