Mumsnet poll needed please....

Am expecting DS2 in July. I really like the name James, but it will probably be Jamie for short, already have an Oliver, Will this be a stupid Idea (a la The Naked Chef?) or shall we come up with another name?

no that doesn't sound stupid. Both nice, normal names.

Doesn't sound stupid to me but there's bound to be some people who think it's hilarious and will constantly comment on it... . . Could call him Jimmy instead?

Both nice names, together though you will get people mentioning them for as long as the people's chef is on the telly.

Not sure if I like Jimmy or Jim, (no offence to anyone with those names, they just don't go with our surname!) I like Jamie and Jay. But thanks for feedback as I was starting to get paranoid!!

Oliver is first so it will be 'Oliver and Jamie' not 'Jamie and Oliver' so people might not even think of JO!

belgo · 21/04/2008 10:25

It helps that Oliver is your eldest so Oliver and James sounds better then James and Oliver

At least you had the Oliver and first.. Oliver and James doesn't sound too obviously linked.

Oliver and Jamie!! come here now.

Nope that sounds OK in my opinion.

Ramsay and Gordon though, I would have told you NO.

I know two brothers called Oliver and Jamie and tbh I've never linked them to the name Jamie Oliver. In their case it's the older boy who is called Jamie.
