Which do you prefer? Orla, Sophie or Lyra. surname beginning with J and a sibling called Harry

Sophie

Sophie is a beautiful classic but I know a lot of Sophie’s of all ages, so she might well be one of many Sophie’s in her work / social circles as an adult.
I like how Lyra sounds a bit more unusual (especially in the general population) and has a bit of a cool edge to it with its “eye” sound, that is so popular at the moment (e.g. Isla and Ivy). Orla is quite nice too, even in my non-rhetoric accent!

Sophie- like it, classic, but very popular. Sophie and Harry go well together, with a air of nobility 😊
Orla- Not as common and still ok, but not my favourite

Lyra- don't like it at all. I either read it as Lycra or Liar

BananaGrapeMelon · 15/09/2024 14:37

Love Sophie and Lyra

DuchessOfSausage · 15/09/2024 14:39

Sophie by a mile.
Orla is ok but a bit nothingy, and looks like Oral.
I don't like Lyra at all.

The downside with Sophie is that Sophia and Sofia are very popular.

Atishooo · 15/09/2024 16:19

I’d say Orla is quite common, I know 3. Sophie is a bit dull and everywhere. Lyra is nice, quite popular. Always paired with Rose/May/Grace which have been done to death.

Mebebecat · 15/09/2024 16:22

Sophie. Very refreshing after the glut of Sophias.

Just4thisthreadtoday · 15/09/2024 16:24

Sophie by a country mile.

shoopshoopdedoo · 15/09/2024 18:31

I voted for Sophie. I like Lyra too.

BibbityBobbityToo · 15/09/2024 18:33

Never heard of Lyra, how would you pronounce that? LeeRha or LieRha?

(I voted Sophie 😀)

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 15/09/2024 18:43

Live Sophie.

Don't like the others.

DuchessOfSausage · 15/09/2024 19:27

Lie-ra or Lee-ra, but usually Lie-ra, @BibbityBobbityToo .

SerenityNowInsanityLater · 15/09/2024 19:28

Difficult choice between three lovely names. Sophie is always a winner though.

Andoutcomethewolves · 15/09/2024 19:32

Like PP, I like Sophie but I know soooo many.

Orla is pretty. I like Lyra too but prefer Lila/Lyla if you're open to other options?!

Sunnnybunny72 · 15/09/2024 19:41

Sophie.
