Has anyone changed spelling after 12 months old?

Hi, we have a son with a name that everyone gets wrong . We went with a spelling that isn’t english( he is half Arabic) and everyone gets it’s wrong at the drs, nursery etc. We were thinking of changing the spelling to the English variant but how difficult is it?

We obviously would get a new passport but what about child benefits/ childcare funding and at the drs and things? Would it be a problem later on in life?

Many thanks for your help 🙏🏻

Once the passport has been changed you can use that as ID.

You will need to get a deedpoll and present it with the BC if you ever need to show the BC but most places accept the passport.

If it really bothers you change it now before he even remembers the old spelling.
