Help, my due date is fast approaching and I can’t decide between those two names? Any thoughts on why you prefer either name would be amazing!

I prefer Rosa.

lemonyellows · 08/09/2024 09:23

Depends on your surname of course, but I prefer Rosa.

Sunnnybunny72 · 08/09/2024 09:26

Rosa

Belladone · 08/09/2024 09:26

Adeline is very pretty and unusual I love it.

try calling her it for a few hours, refer to her by it as much as you can, see if it feels natural to you.

it will probably get shortened to Adie which is nice

Adeline

Dreamerinme · 08/09/2024 09:28

Rosa, but probably because you’ll have people mispronounce Adeline a lot (I know someone with this name and it’s been a lifelong thing for her).

I prefer Rosa but there are a LOT of Rose names about

Adeline is quite nice too

Maybe Ida?

Rosa

shoopshoopdedoo · 08/09/2024 12:32

I don’t like Adeline. So I’d pick Rosa. I much prefer Rose though!

muddyford · 08/09/2024 12:38

Adeline is lovely.

MermaidMummy06 · 08/09/2024 12:51

Depends on your last name & how it sounds together.

I have an Adalyn. People get it confused for Adeline, Madelin, or just call her Addy. Adeline will get mistaken for Madeline (Mad-a-line). It's frustrating.

Moreteaandchocolate · 08/09/2024 16:47

Both are lovely. Rosa is my favourite as I love simple classics. Adeline is pretty if you like a slightly longer, more unusual name - the one I know goes by Addie, which suits her well.

KirstenBlest · 08/09/2024 18:03

Rose. Adeline is awful. She'll be Addie. Madeleine is nice.

Firsttimebabymummy · 08/09/2024 18:21

Rosa although they're both nice

yikesanotherbooboo · 08/09/2024 18:43

Rosa is a lovely name .I'm not keen on Adeline .

HobnobsChoice · 08/09/2024 18:51

I have a Rosa. One word of warning, in Yorkshire and parts of Lancashire people think I've said Rosie due to some broad accents (I've got a soft northern accent but people with full on West and North Yorks hear it as 'ie' not A). She likes her name and will correct people nicely if needed as do I. It's a name that travels pretty well and she's the only one in her school. I absolutely love her name after 12 years.

KirstenBlest · 08/09/2024 18:51

Sorry, I meant Rosa not Rose. It's nice.

Cotswoldmama · 08/09/2024 19:05

Rosa

MouldyCandy · 08/09/2024 19:19

Rosalie

Mumofgirls2017 · 08/09/2024 22:05
