What do you think of the name Nicholas for a little boy? It’s our favourite name! His sister is called Anna. Do they work nicely together or too boring?

I love it! And it flows well with Anna. My DC have very traditional names in a similar vein.... and because of that they actually stand out as a bit different amongst all the popular names around now.

Really like!

Love it! So handsome and traditional, and underused at the moment.

I'm Anna, my brother is Nicholas (Nick). It's worked for us.

Yes that’s lovely. I know a teenage Nicholas who was Nico when small, now more going to Nick. Great name

RVEllacott · 01/09/2024 21:46

I love it and I like Anna too.

CurlewKate · 01/09/2024 22:06

I love Nicholas. Some good shortenings- my DS has a friend known as Nico.

shoopshoopdedoo · 01/09/2024 22:07

I really like it

Great name - so is Anna. You have excellent taste :-)

HippyKayYay · 01/09/2024 22:20

It’s one of those great names that was everywhere when I was a kid (in the 80s/90s) but you rarely meet any kids/babies with the name now.

Thank you everyone.

Lovely classic strong names

Firebird83 · 02/09/2024 10:28

Lovely!

Noz590 · 02/09/2024 10:31

Thank you everyone! We’ve had a few comments from people that it’s a bit too plain, but I really love it.

Yes! This is similar to what others have said to us, that the names aren’t very popular so to go with something more “trendy” but we adore the names.

Great names. Classic. Strong. No nonsense. Big thumbs up!

Apileofballyhoo · 02/09/2024 11:22

The two I know, one about 50 and one late teens, are both lovely, and I always thought it's a really good name. The full name is strong and I like the shortening to Nicky or Nick. Anna is lovely with it too.

I love the shortening of Nicky/Nico whilst he’s a baby!
