Name help for 2nd baby

We already have a Miles (which we’ve found to be a bit of a marmite name, but we still love it) , we don’t know babies sex yet but we’re struggling for ideas on names.

Husband quite likes Jasper for a boy and Ava for a girl, I really dislike Ava I don’t know why, it also seems quite popular compared to Miles and Jasper type names.
I quite liked Edward last time around or Sienna for a girl but neither feel right.

Ava is nice but hugely overused. A few years back I felt like every baby girl I knew of was named Ava. Especially as they’re all Ava May, Ava Grace, Ava Rose. And with all the Evies and Ivys it just blends in.

Not keen on Sienna personally, there’s something a bit pretentious about it, but again I know bloody loads of them. I work with kids…

I really like Ava, although it is very popular. I don’t like Sienna so much - seems a bit trendy.

Edward is gorgeous. Suits any boy or man! Jasper is really popular on here but, personally, I can’t see the appeal. I knew a Jasper when younger and all the boys called him a slang name for the end of a penis, and now I just can’t unhear that…

How about Oscar, Isaac, Rufus, Billy.

I know a Miles with db Lewis. Which if you swap the M upside down becomes W so an anagram!! Quite genius! They have a dsis called Mia.. Me a...

Jasper and Miles are nice. I like Edward too, but it will be shortened.

I don't like Ava at all, it's too popular and as pp, it blends into all the Evie, Eva, Ivy type names.
I don't like Sienna either. It seems faddy.

As random suggestions: Contance (Connie), Felicity, Verity, Polly, Flora.

Don't dislike a name because you think it is popular. I chose two popular top 10 names for my children and we rarely cross over with people of the same name. I'd say a handful of times for my eldest who is now 7. Only once with my youngest as its one of our friends names too lol.
We cross over with more names trying to be unique but failing as everyone does that now. Usually all the same pronunciation but spelt differently.

Edward is lovely. We would have gone for Edward if our second was a boy.

Edward is lovely , I dislike Jasper.
For a girl I like Evangeline, Martha, Georgina, Caroline , Cora, Lucy, Mariella. My daughter has two names from my list.

Hugo sounds lovely with Miles.

Miles is a lovely name, what about Owen, Ethan or Jude?
For a girl maybe Layla, Sophie, Amelia/ Emilia?
So hard to pick a name you both like and even harder when it’s second time round!

Miles is a lovely name, but it's very popular where I am. I know five under the age of 8! If you want to avoid that with DC two, definitely steer clear of Ava or anything in that vein.

DP likes Jasper but I can't abide it! I knew a very posh, very mean boy with that name once and he's spoiled it for me.

Popularity depends on area. Ava isn't at all popular around here, yet I know loads of girls called Sienna!

Jasper goes really well with Miles, Ava and Edward go quite well but Sienna seems a completely different style to me. It's quite downmarket compared to your other choices.

I'd imagine Miles to have a sibling called something like Hugo, Vincent, Dominic, Felix, Nathaniel, Penelope, Arabella, Harriet, Tabitha or Verity.

My kids names are quite simple. All 3 letters. I do have an Eve and she goes mad if someone calls her Evie lol. Niece on OH side called Ava. Also have a niece called Ivy. I don't know any other Avas in my area. Or Eves tbh. In Eves class at school there was an Eleanor, Mary and a Charlotte. Think they'd all go with Miles ...

While it’s true Miles isn’t exactly my cup of tea, I do think Jasper has a very similar style/vibe - so would names like Sebastian, Edmund, Tobias, Julian etc imo

Edward seems a touch too classically popular compared to Miles for me (but is still totally useable - I mean there are always lots of Edward’s about so some of them must have brothers called Miles statistically! 🤣)

Ava and Sienna are too trendy compared to Miles imo , Eva/Evelyn would be more classic, albeit (like Edward) very popular. You could maybe consider retro Sylvia? Or Cecily? Celia? Serena?
