What are your thoughts on Annika? Preferred spelling Annika or Anneka?

Boiler suit. But that is my age.

It’s ok, but not especially pretty. I think Anneka is more usual here (and a bit less like knickers)

MelodyMalone · 18/08/2024 22:41

I like it. It does make me think of Anneka Rice, but future generations will have no idea who that is.

There was an 80s one-hit-wonder singer called Aneka with one N, now long forgotten I'm sure.

My relatives daughter is Annika and I love it. She's mid 20s now but it's always suited her.

dollopz · 18/08/2024 22:50

Anouk

dollopz · 18/08/2024 22:51

It quite like Annika with Annie as a nickname to

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 18/08/2024 23:01

I like it, showing my age but I remember watching an 80's drama series called Annika, about a Swedish teenage girl and a romance with a British boy.

SonicTheHodgeheg · 18/08/2024 23:02

I think Rice too but it’s a good association that nobody in her class will know.

Firsttimebabymummy · 19/08/2024 07:03

My friend is Annika and she's lovely so I'm biased! I really like it.
She gets Annie and Nikkie.

I love and know one of each of these - Annika and Anneke.
Both great choices.

My favourite spelling is Anneke - the Dutch way.

FayCarew · 19/08/2024 08:32

Not keen.

RedOnyx · 19/08/2024 08:41

I like it. I had it on my long list but partner vetoed because he was at school with one he didn't like 😅. I would use the Annika spelling.

Sweetteaplease · 19/08/2024 09:09

Love it

notanothernana · 19/08/2024 09:32

Annika ka ka ka ka ka (from a radio 4 show)

motherofawhirlwind · 19/08/2024 09:34

Beautiful. I adopted a cat called Anika. She was amazing, super affectionate, and her nickname was NiNi (Knee-Knee). I'd use that spelling Smile

But then I have a child with a cats name (apparently), so.....

Blackthorne · 19/08/2024 09:42

Swedish

dbeuowlxb173939 · 19/08/2024 10:14

I like it. Would probably spell Anneka

HettyCletter · 19/08/2024 14:47

I love it. So much so I chose it as my daughter’s name. I haven’t once regretted choosing it and she’s almost 9.

timoteigirl · 19/08/2024 19:57

I only know one young Annika, younger than 10 years. All the other Annikas are in their 50s and 60s. Pippi Longstocking's friend.

MelodyMalone · 19/08/2024 20:08

I've never met an Annika at all!
