I'm almost 37 weeks and we still can't decide on a boy's name. Thoughts of the name Odin to match sister Wren?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It’s a big name! I prefer Olin, Oran, Osian, Otto etc. but I don’t hate it.

MistyHazelFox · 03/08/2024 13:08

Not a fan. Just way too magnificent and One Person's Name like Beyonce. I can only think of norse God.
What about Thorin, Magnus, Rocco, Cedric, Fox...

Forgottenmyphone · 03/08/2024 13:12

How about Bodhi?

No, it’s weird. Would you call your child after any other god? Neptune? Mercury? Odin is a big name, hard to pull off. And a god of destruction doesn’t sound ideal. I’m not even sure if it’s used in Scandinavian countries.

I love your daughter’s name! I haven’t heard the name Odin before, I quite like it. Or how about

I know of an Orin who's an absolute cracker - would that work?

Mumofgirls2017 · 03/08/2024 18:16

I like Odin, but not sure about it with wren. I’d expect Wren and…

Agree with those who said Orin would be a better fit - it has a nature vibe like Wren as some say it’s a variant of Hebrew Oren meaning Pine tree. Ivo might also be nice too - means Yew Tree.

I do know a toddler Thor, which like Odin is a “big” name - I must admit I was a bit surprised when they first introduced him 🤣

Garman · 03/08/2024 23:16

You still have up to 5 weeks before the baby is even here and weeks after to name him, what’s the rush? Wait to see him.

Shoutymomma · 03/08/2024 23:27

No.
Wren is lovely. Odin would over power Wren and surely you wouldn’t want that….
Go for a tree or river name.
Oak/Oakley/Oaken
Elm/Elmer/Elmo
Birch/Beech/Larch
