Hey, feel like I've completed the internet 10 times over and still can't find a boys name I like. I'm looking for something a bit out there but not totally rogue. Something potentially naturey, earthy/ hippyish/ dudeish and I like the sound of ie or y on the end. All the names I found so far seem to be nick names but the full version I really don't like. Suggestions welcome, thank you :)

I have a friend whose little boys name is Everette, I love it, shortened to Evy x

Just thought of another one sorry if it’s already been suggested. Just heard of a little boy called Avery. Very sweet.

We're both British and lots of the names I like have Mediterranean vibes. We'll likely have have a light skinned, freckly, ginger boy so not sure if he could pull it off! 😂

If he is ginger Rowan works really well as it means- little red head

I have a little ginger, freckly, elfin Leo - he is just Leo, but you could go for Leopold, Leonardo, Galileo if you wanted a longer name to shorten. (IMO the name really suits him).

I also liked Alfred because of the meaning (Leader of Elves!) and the fact you can shorten to both Alfie or Freddie (even though I know you said you don't want ie endings, it wouldn't be the official name).

There is also an older English version of this which is Aethelfred which I loved, but was too out there to use. (Also, now I go to find it, I can't find this exact version which makes me think I've mashed two names up by mistake).

Idris was another favourite name of mine - DH vetoed this but it makes me think of dragons :) It is the name of an astronomer giant in an old Welsh legend.

Rowan we liked, but it's too close to another family name. Ditto Robin and Orion.

DH was very keen on Nikolas but I didn't like it. Niko for short, or Nikolai with Niko for short.

Tobias is one that I liked too, just the sound of it. Sebastian feels similar.

Try the site Behind The Name - you can search by meaning, origin, loads of different things, it's really good.
