Would really appreciate your opinions and suggestions for my third boy on the way!
We have an Edward (known as Edward, occasionally Ed) and Henry…

We like but don’t love any of the following: (hubby quite keen on an ‘R’ name!!)

Rupert
Reuben
Rufus
Ralph
Rex
Jude
Otis

thank you! 🩵

Richard - another king

BoleynMemories13 · 27/07/2024 14:13

Jude is my favourite, followed by Reuben. They all seem quite 'current' compared to your other boys though.

With Edward and Henry I would imagine their brother to be something like George, James, William, Albert, Arthur, Thomas, Joseph, Alexander. Very traditional.

I second Richard. It’s a great name!
I’ll add Roland to the mix.

From your list, Jude is my favourite.

Thanks so much everyone!

I should have said we can’t use William or Arthur! Edward’s middle name is Albert (after my grandad) and Richard is actually my dad’s name!!!!!

Was trying to stay away from some of the obvious kings or Thomas trains!!!! So not super keen on George, James & Alexander hence thinking a little out of the box!

I do like Louis which fits with our ‘royal’ kind of vibe.

Jude. I like pp’s Wilfred suggestion.

anicecuppateaa · 28/07/2024 12:43

We have one ds with a very similar name, and another with one off your list.

I love Louis from your list.

Another R name - Raffy/ Rafferty?

Growsomeballswoman · 28/07/2024 12:53

Edward, Henry and Owen

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 28/07/2024 14:37

Not sure your current picks really fit in style with your other boys. If you don’t like the obvious royal/ Thomas train type name to fit in style with Edward and Henry then how about lesser known kings/aristocracy etc - thinking maybe Alfred, Frederick, Max(imilian) ,John, Robert, David etc

Or go very classic Biblical as that also works great with Edward and Henry in style- Daniel, Joseph, Benjamin, Adam, Jacob, Samuel, Michael etc

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 28/07/2024 14:39

Oh, I like pp suggestion of Owen - similar style to Otis on your list but more classic/less trendy. Similar sounding Rowan might also work well if you definitely want an “R” name, as although it’s not as classic like your other boys names, it at least shares the same shortish, 2 syllable, Top 100 style of Edward and Henry.

Elyalbert · 28/07/2024 14:42

Richard really does work best, but if you don’t want that how about Robert?

SwedishEdith · 28/07/2024 14:44

Louis is a good suggestion. I'll throw Gregory in as well as an underused option.

Kingsway22 · 28/07/2024 14:56

Cuthbert ( Bert/Bertie) fits with your other names.

Cuthbert was a Saint.

WhoInvitedHer · 28/07/2024 18:39

Rafe?

Aglassaday · 28/07/2024 18:50
