Alice’s brother

I need some help naming baby boy, due in October.

If dd (Alice) had been a boy she would have been a Frederick which is still by far my favourite boy’s name. But I think it’s just too popular around here! At least 3 in our local park at the weekend. And there’s a Freddie with the same surname initial at her nursery.

I might decide I don’t care and go with it anyway but thinking of alternatives. So far have come up with:

Edward - love this but I’m not keen on Eddie. Also have a nephew called Ted already so that might be a bit close
Rowan - DH’s favourite. I like it but don’t love it
Laurence - I think this is lovely. DH less keen but hasn’t ruled it out

Which would you choose from those 3? Or any other ideas?

Alice and Edgar

Laurence is gender neutral in France
Unless you are French it doesn't matter if a name is a girl's name there. It's a boy's name here.

Edward - will be Ed or Ted.

Rowan - nice but you don't love it.

Frederick - you love it

I prefer Edward from your three.

Next Rowan or Rohan.

DD would have been Lawrence if she’d been a boy 😊😊 lovely well-known name but I don’t know any little ones.

Like Freddie but don’t like Eddie? And Fred and Ted is OK but Ed and Ted isn’t? I say go with your heart, Freddie is a lovely friendly name and yes I know lots of them but if my kids are anything to go by they LOVE meeting other kids with their same name.

James was my initial reaction to your title but I don’t like James 😄

Alice and Frederick
Alice and Ben

Alice and Lawrence sound off when I say them out loud. Not sure why, but they sort of sound similar!
