I love the name Finn.

ebadame · 23/07/2024 06:28

August is nice but if they aren't born in August it will annoy them

MumChp · 23/07/2024 06:52

August
Caspian
Finn

Mumofgirls2017 · 23/07/2024 07:34

Love Caspian and August 😍 Finn is ok but boring in comparison

Purplecatshopaholic · 23/07/2024 07:39

Finn is lovely. Quite like August if they are indeed born then. Caspian reminds me of the CS Lewis book but is also nice.

You need to give some clue as to what kind of style you like.

After a sleepless night, I thought from the thread title you were asking us what we thought of the name "Poll"..... was going to say I'd never heard of the name Polly for a boy!

notenoughteaintheworld · 23/07/2024 07:51

I loved August as a name until my German wife pointed out most European languages have it as a name pronounced “Ow-goost”

MistyHazelFox · 23/07/2024 07:51

I like Caspian and August the best and I voted August.

Same here

deliwoman1 · 23/07/2024 07:59

Voted August. We’re thinking of using it for a middle name! I would shorten to Gus rather than Augie though.

No they don't there's 3 names in the poll

OliviaFlaversham · 23/07/2024 08:01

Either August or Caspian just not Finn. It was so so popular a while back that it still feels over done.

Must be a feature I don't know about and can't see Grin

I wondered why people were picking similar names!

EmoCourt · 23/07/2024 08:44

I think Finn is overused, and August I can’t get past seeing as an adjective rather than the month — and ‘regal, dignified, stately’ etc seems a bit much for a child. I quite like Gus, though. Caspian I find a bit wispy and lispy.

JimNast · 23/07/2024 10:18

August is dreadful.
Caspian is OK.
Finn is nice but Finn and Finley are popular.

shoopshoopdedoo · 23/07/2024 13:43

Finn is nice. August seems like a lot, unless you’re super posh, but I like the nickname Gus. Really dislike Caspian.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 23/07/2024 14:19

Adore Caspian - so elegant and romantic sounding, it (appropriately!) does sound like a hero from a story. It is definitely the bravest option though - trendier August and (especially) Finn will blend in more. Maybe also consider Flynn instead of Finn? Makes me think of Errol Flynn (and again, swashbuckling type heroes) rather than a bit fishy like Finn.

SkaneTos · 23/07/2024 17:38

They are all good names!

I voted for August.
There is a Swedish playwright called August, August Strindberg. He wrote the famous play "Miss Julie".

I think it depends on what device you use. Not everyone can see the polls.

Huskyfat · 23/07/2024 17:55

I think we need more Caspians in this world. And some Augusts. Another Finn wont make much of a difference

BoleynMemories13 · 23/07/2024 19:58

Finn by an absolute mile. It's handsome and manly, simple but stylish.

August is ok, just not my style.

Caspian is awfully pretentious.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 23/07/2024 20:02

Caspian is wonderful. I like Sebastian too. August sounds trendy but I do like Gus. Not keen on Finn but it's not awful.

Grazianoscubanheel · 23/07/2024 20:11

Finn Germyas

Scorpion84 · 23/07/2024 20:19

I have a Finley . In hindsight wish I had just called him Finn. Love the simplicity of the name and most people call him Finn anyway X
