Sabrina what?

Hi all!

We think we’re settled on Sabrina as a first name but looking for some inspiration on middle names. Surname is long, so we’re looking for something fairly short. We are a Venezuelan/British couple living in UK, in case that guides people in terms of origin. We quite like Marie, but we’re worried it sounds a little dated? So wondering if anyone had any good suggestions?

When I'd only seen the thread title my immediate thought was "Sabrina Marie", then I opened the thread to see you are already considering it!

Sabrina Mara? Similar to Marie but maybe slightly less dated/middle-namey (I feel like everyone my age has one of three names as a middle name: Marie, Louise or Ann)

Does she really need a middle name? You say the last name is really long and the first name is already 3 syllables. I know we all have different opinions, but to me middle names are added for a reason, like to honour a family member

Me too. I can't be doing with the twee single-syllable filler middle name.

Marie is slightly '1970s filler middle name' but I like it as a name. Sabrina Mary is even nicer.

Also pick what you like- it doesn't matter if you think it's dated or not if it means something to you. Middle names are so rarely used. Plus so called "dated" names keep coming back in!
