Hi Everyone, hope I have done this, right ? Quite new to this..

Looking for inspiration on a Girls name. Like the different spelling to common names . Ideally Would.like to contuine the L. And 'end 'e' sound. But I'm quite open.

I'm expecting my 3rd girl and have no clue to a name..

We have Laycie & Lucie

Thank you to everyone in advance xx

My advice would be not to saddle your child with a name that she will go through her life having to spell.

SanMarzano · 14/07/2024 12:21

Lily seems like the obvious choice?

Regalia · 14/07/2024 12:23

Lara. Laoise. Lisbeth.

ceola · 14/07/2024 12:23

I worked with a South African girl called Lindi once which i thought was nice. Laurie. Can't think of any more!

But Lucie is a perfectly reasonable spelling

It might be advisable just sticking to one theme, either another L name or another 'ee' ending. Two names which both start and end with the same sound is one thing but 3 makes for a major tongue twister.

I would also stick to the usual spellings to make her life easier (as, when said aloud, it's the same name as the usual spelling anyway). Name variations, like Lucie, are fine but I wouldn't get too creative by making up spellings. It'll just set up a lifetime of hassle for her.

Laycie, Lucie and...

Lola
Lara
Laurel
Lyla
Lyra

Sophie
Phoebe
Emily
Holly
Hallie
Molly
Ruby
Darcie
Ellie
Sadie
Ivy

Hmm with lacey and lucie, you can't do something too different. Eg lacey, lucie and Rebecca would be confusing. It will sound weird if it's too different from the two similar names you already have but try to diversify more with the next name.

I'd avoid another l name though.

What about Lacey, Lucie and Sally?

Sally is perfect. Fits it, but starts with a different letter.
Sadie, Sara, rr introduce a new letter.
Tara.
Polly?
Shellby?

Some good suggestions here!

I like Lacey, Lucie & Lyra as a combo.

You could also mix up the el and the ee sounds? eg:

Lacey, Lucie & Elsie

Or as suggested by the poster I quoted, Lacey, Lucie & Ellie

Fontainebleau007 · 14/07/2024 13:07

Lexie
Lillie
Lottie

BingoMarieHeeler · 14/07/2024 13:10

Laycie Lucie and Lissie? My mind would not be able to cope but you’ve already got 2 and Lissie is v nice name which suits all ages if you ask me! (I’d go for Alyssa officially)

MonsteraMama · 14/07/2024 13:14

You could always try the Behindthename baby name expert? You can keep cycling through names based on sounds you like or dislike, along with a bunch of other factors so you can quite quickly get it suggesting lots of "ee" sounding or "L" variant names. Plus it's fun to play with 😁

Lottie, Lily, Libbie or Lexie? Or Livvie short for Olivia?
Or if it can be any L name, then:
Lara
Lyra
Linnea
Lila
Lola
Laila
Lorelai
Leilani
Liana
Lena
Laura
Lorna
Luna

salamithumbs · 14/07/2024 22:28

Or you could do Anneliese or Elisa with the nickname Liesl? Also like the previous suggestion of Lissie as a nickname of Alyssa
