My favourite baby boy name is Louis, husband loves Jenson. Which do you prefer?

Jenson is lovely don't like Louis

sleekcat · 10/07/2024 15:27

Louis. Don't like Jenson at all, I've only met one Jenson and he didn't leave a good impression.

Meadowtrees · 10/07/2024 15:29

Louis - nice, fairly neutral traditional name.

Jenson - definitely not ‘smart’. Naughty boy vibes. Sounds like a surname.

I much prefer Louis, gorgeous name that ages well.
Jenson is ok, but very different vibes.

TheCultureHusks · 10/07/2024 16:44

Louis is lovely. Jenson is grim!

ALunchbox · 10/07/2024 16:45

Louis without doubt.

Nap1983 · 10/07/2024 16:46

Louis is nice!
really not keen on Jenson, but far from the worst ive heard

TM1979 · 10/07/2024 17:05

Louis for sure. Jenson is dreadful

MavisPennies · 10/07/2024 17:06

Jenson sounds like a butler

Bjorkdidit · 10/07/2024 17:12

I suppose it depends if your last name is Hamilton or Button.

PurpleReindeer2 · 10/07/2024 17:20

That would be Lewis.... Louis is a different name.

Hoppinggreen · 10/07/2024 17:23

Far be it from me to use the word Chavvy.
The Jensons I have known have been a bit ..............................

Beaverbridge · 10/07/2024 17:23

Louis

Louis by a country mile! I'm a big fan of traditional names. If it's good enough for the royals...

Jenson is very common, and I don't mean popular. It's a classic 'naughty boy''s name'.

But Louis is Lew-ee, not Lew-iss.

Two of my DC had a Louis-said-Lewis in their class!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 10/07/2024 20:47

Unless DH is called John (and therefore Jenson makes sense) then stick with Louis. I always find it strange that all the Harrison’s, Jackson’s, Hudson’s etc don’t match their fathers names - it’s almost like their mothers could be hinting at something…🤣

Oh I know some people do, Louis Smith being a famous example. It makes me cringe.

If you're going to pick a French name/spelling, pronounce it properly!

thatstakingalongtimetoboil · 10/07/2024 20:56

Love both but I think Louis has the edge

LizzieBet14 · 10/07/2024 21:23

Louis

Doodlebugbop · 10/07/2024 23:22

Louis.

There's a Jenson in dd's class, he gets called Jen or Jens which sounds like gents.

SmellsLikeMiddleAgeSpirit · 10/07/2024 23:40

Louis - but only if pronounced properly!
