Romilly and Cecily are lovely. Matilda is too common imo, and Cordelia just doesn’t have a nice sound to it, again imo.
Magnus is quite nice, but those other boys names are all terrible, sorry.

GoodVibesHere · 05/07/2024 07:18

Matilda is ok but I'm not keen on the others. The boys names aren't very nice to my ear. But it's a personal choice isn't it.

KnitnNatterAuntie · 05/07/2024 07:30

Matilda ~ love this name
Cordelia ~ NO!
Cecily ~ quite pretty, but not sure
Romilly ~ very pretty

Magnus ~ not sure
Clarence ~ NO! (reminds me of Clarence the cross-eyed lion!)
Emil ~ NO!
Frederick ~ very nice
Gustav ~ NO!

DustyLee123 · 05/07/2024 07:31

Cecile and Frederick are ok, no to the rest.

Enko · 05/07/2024 07:33

Love your boys names. Love Cordelia for girls but not keen on the others

Mumofgirls2017 · 05/07/2024 07:33

Matilda- love
Cordelia- not for me
Cecily- ok but not great meaning
Romilly- love, love nn Romy

Magnus- love
Clarence- love but others won’t 😂
Emil- not a fan
Frederick- love
Gustav- not for me

MissedItByThisMuch · 05/07/2024 07:40

They’re all perfectly fine names, none terrible.

That said you asked for opinions so:
I love Cecily and Romilly, like Cordelia, Matilda is ok.
Love Frederick, like Magnus, other boys names not to my taste.

StormingNorman · 05/07/2024 07:42

Cordelia and Frederick

bergamotorange · 05/07/2024 07:42

I vote for Romilly and Emil.

ClaudineMallory · 05/07/2024 07:44

I love all of these - what great choices!
I'd only hesitate on Matilda because it's quite common now, but it's still a nice name.

ThursdayTomorrow · 05/07/2024 07:47

Cecily or Magnus.
Also throwing in Celia.

GetThatBloodyFaceOff · 05/07/2024 07:52

I don't like any of them

CosFuckThatGuy · 05/07/2024 07:59

None of them for me sorry; they're all a lot I think.

We obviously have v different tastes though so my opinion shouldn't matter to you.

ToffeenutLatte · 05/07/2024 08:01

Love Cecily and Romilly.
Frederick is the best of the boys names, assuming it would be shortened to Freddie the majority of the time.

DinnaeFashYersel · 05/07/2024 08:02

I like Cecily. The rest not at all

RabbitsRock · 05/07/2024 08:05

I can’t decide about Cecily but really like Romilly as it’s unusual. I don’t like any of the boys names unfortunately

CoastalSunsets · 05/07/2024 08:22

Matilda is ok. I don't like any of the others.

EnjoythemoneyJane · 05/07/2024 08:38

Which ones do you like best OP? Nobody else’s opinion matters, but since you asked …

Cecily & Romilly are beautiful. Matilda’s nice; Cordelia less so.

I find the boys names unappealing, especially Clarence. It’s a very Germanic selection - I know a lovely Emil but his parents are Dutch, which makes more sense to me somehow (though I know that’s illogical!). But if you’re ultimately intending to shorten them anyway (Freddie, Gus), why not just use the shortened version?

Namechanger385u4p · 05/07/2024 08:39

Cordelia and Magnus. I LOVE Cordelia

TM1979 · 05/07/2024 08:41

I like Matilda and Cordelia. The rest are hideous.

deeahgwitch · 05/07/2024 08:50

I like Romilly but I don't like any of the boys names.

SatinHeart · 05/07/2024 09:12

Matilda is the best of the girls names but it's very popular at the moment. They are all a bit frilly for my taste.

Frederick is probably the best of the boys names but again Freddie is pretty popular. Just personal preference though - we don't seem to share the same taste in names generally.

Firsttimebabymummy · 05/07/2024 09:42

We must have different taste as I only like Frederick ..

Notellinganyone · 05/07/2024 10:25

CosFuckThatGuy · 05/07/2024 07:59

None of them for me sorry; they're all a lot I think.

Frederick, Cecily, Matilda. All pretty big standard and hardly out there. Freddy is massively popular.

KirstenBlest · 05/07/2024 13:00

Matilda - ok but will be Tilly or Tilda, neither of which I like. Too popular for my taste.
Cordelia - ok but a bit long. Delia is nice.
Cecily - ok but a bit too Cecil-y. Don't like Cess or Cece.
Romilly - nice surname but not as a first name

Magnus - like
Clarence - don't like
Emil - like but Emily & Emilia too popular. Is it Em-ill or Em-eel?
Frederick - fine
Gustav - like
