Help! Inspiration for non religious boho baby boy names

Hey, found out we are expecting a little boy and I'm struggling to find a name I like. Have completed the internet 5 times over. Looking for something a bit boho, cool, dude vibe but nothing too out there! Had loads of girls names on the list but stuck for boys!

Names that have come close but are either Arabic, Hebrew (we are English, not religious and likely to have a pale ginger boy with freckles!) So lots of the names I like I'm not sure would go:
Raffie, Ziggy, River, Arlo, Reggie, Otis, Otto.

These are all close but he haven't found one we both agree on. Please send your suggestions, I'd be very grateful :)

Manchester. Man for short, once he's 18.

Out of your options only Ziggy gives a boho vibe to me. Raffie and Arlo are just overdone, River will also date I think, Reggie nice but old man vibes, Otis/ Otto are ok but not boho/ cool dude. I think Brody is a good suggestion, or Ash, Flynn (although lots of Finn’s), Eli but that’s religious, Cassius ‘Cas’, Kit

And the someone suggested Woody (erection) Blush

Zoe Ball and Fatboy Slim’s son is called Woody. I bet he never had any problems at school.

God, don't call a child Shag!

I meant to put an extra G on it, so it would be Shagg or even Shaggy, like the Jamaican singer.
Shags are interesting birds and they are on the Red List.

Hey! He will be guaranteed to become a cowboy with a spaceman named Buzz for his best friend and a Slinky dog as a pet!

These are very silly names to give your poor kid, if you was a rock star or something it would probably be OK, but come on, your poor son would be saddled with a ridiculous name he would be ridiculed at school.

Let's name all the boys Robert and all the girls Gillian.

I know a little Shay whose family are quite surfer types. Also two called Ocean ( a boy and a girl).

KateF · 30/06/2024 11:50

Also a Beck. That grew on me as he was so lovely!

Lifelover16 · 30/06/2024 11:51

@LemonSoup Crow, Shag or Dodo 😂😂😂😂

LemonSoup · 30/06/2024 12:05

@Lifelover16 Dodo is a diminutive of Dorothy meaning Gift of God in Hebrew and there is a jazz pianist called Dodo Marmarosa, as well as a German painter. There are a few in fiction, including one by EF Benson, who wrote Mapp and Lucia.

Crow is becoming more popular and is more gender neutral, you know, a bit like Raven which comes from the same family.

I've already mentioned that Shag might be better spelled with two G's and referred to the Jamaican musician, Shaggy. The character in Scooby Doo is called Shaggy because of his shaggy hair.

So, if you're interested in bird names that are not overused, these might be suitable. If you'd rather stick to Jay or Robin, that's fine too.
