Thoughts on name Victor?

What do you think of Victor as a name? We live in Chiswick, West London, and have not met many Victors in the area. Would you say it's a common name?

Some people say is quite elegant and timeless (Queen Victoria reminiscences) while others think it's a bit harsh, rough or even tacky...

What do you think? DP is Scandinavian and really likes it for our boy - but I'm not sure.

Thanks!

I see the name as posh. And strong.

Like it and the nn Vic. Don't like Vincent.

My 4 year olds middle name! It's a family name I love it!

It's old fashioned, imo I would group it with names like Kenneth, Keith and Trevor. A typical Victor is over 80 probably.

And yet it's not classic, and has a completely different vibe from Victoria (which I do quite like).

For short, it would be Vic, which reminds me of the vapour rub.

Sorry but I really don't like it and can't imagine a little boy with the name.

I love it! I also love Vincent.

I associate it with Victor Meldrew, or Vic Reeves, but that's my age.

I met a Victor recently, he was Russian I think and I'd say in his 30s.

I don't particularly like it but that shouldn't mean anything to you!
