Opinions please... Matilda Pearl

Please can I have your very honest opinions on the name Matilda Pearl. My nan is called Pearl, hence the middle name.

My baby is likely to be pale and fair haired, if that makes a difference?

Thanks.

I like it when middle names actually mean something, it’s lovely that you’re passing the name on.

KnitnNatterAuntie · 23/06/2024 08:35

That's so very pretty . . . love both names and they go together beautifully

A very good choice as both names are well known but not over popular, there are no issues with the spelling or pronunciation and there are some lovely shortened versions of Matilda if you want

Excellent choice all round

I like Matilda, not so keen on Pearl, but lovely to honour your Nan and as it will be her middle name, (not all her first name) then great.

MumChp · 23/06/2024 08:38

Beautiful

Moreteaandchocolate · 23/06/2024 09:04

What a beautiful name and lovely that it has meaning to you as well.

Suffragette85 · 23/06/2024 09:04

I like pearl. It’s a very old name but I think it’ll come back around. Awwww Tilly Pearl

RaininSummer · 23/06/2024 09:19

Lovely names.

CandyLeBonBon · 23/06/2024 09:46

She sounds like she should be a plucky, but down to earth seamstress by day and detective by night in a 1950s thriller! I love it!

IsadoraQuagmire · 23/06/2024 10:19

Really nice.

PurpleReindeer2 · 23/06/2024 10:20

Lovely

WrongSortOfPoster · 23/06/2024 10:25

Good to have her great-grandmother's name as a middle name. It's a nice combination.

Nicebloomers · 23/06/2024 10:50

Very pretty!

SkaneTos · 23/06/2024 15:51

Pretty names, and lovely with the connection to your nan.

GummiBeari · 23/06/2024 15:57

Love it.

HcbSS · 23/06/2024 15:58

Both names are lovely but please stick to Matilda and not Tilly.

ApolloandDaphne · 23/06/2024 16:01

It's a lovely name. I pronounce Pearl as 'Peril' in my Scottish accent so as long as you don't mind any Scottish people mispronouncing her middle name then go for it!

RogueFemale · 24/06/2024 23:50

Sorry, I think both names are frumpy (but you did ask for 'very honest' opinions).

Pieceofpurplesky · 25/06/2024 00:30

Lovely name. I love Pearl and its link to your gran. I taught a Pearl and she was just delightful!

user1492757084 · 25/06/2024 03:03

Great choice.

Needanewname42 · 25/06/2024 03:25

I'm not convinced by Matilda but I love Pearl, even more so with family history
I don't know what other scottish person means by scottish people saying it wrong.

GruntledGoblin · 25/06/2024 03:40

I like both names, but am not liking them together, sorry

Firsttimebabymummy · 25/06/2024 10:03

Love pearl as the middle name and now it actually means something

Matilda Pearl is lovely

bridgetreilly · 25/06/2024 18:34

I like Pearl but to me it doesn’t go with Matilda at all.
