We have three names short listed! Middle names will be William James - has a sibling George.

Arthur
Nye
Leo

Which one!?

Arthur or Leo. Both of those were on my list if I had a boy

DuchessOfSausage · 21/06/2024 11:04

Leo then Arthur
Nye is fine if short for Aneurin, but I would think you were either Welsh (probably from the Valleys) or members of the Labour party.

shoopshoopdedoo · 21/06/2024 11:23

Leo 💯 - it’s popular but I think it’s lovely, and could suit any boy or man. Goes well with the middle names and with George, if that’s a concern.

NYE would be my second pick. i don’t get the love for Arthur, personally - always sounds like “half a” to me!

OneWorldly4 · 21/06/2024 11:39

I like Nye.

Arthur and George together seem a bit cheesy to me, sorry!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 21/06/2024 11:42

Arthur sounds like a traditional pairing with George so would be my pick - although William or James even more so as they are also perennially popular classics like George (love William and James).

We’ve gone for William and James as middle names as we have a nephew called William and his dad is James - both great names though!

Ah, in that case have you considered Thomas, Henry or Charles (Charlie) ? Those are the other very classic pairings with George imo.

Firsttimebabymummy · 21/06/2024 14:29

Came to suggest Henry <3. I agree with @IamnotwhouthinkIam

TomatoSandwiches · 21/06/2024 14:31

Jasper William James is nice also

I voted for Nye but also like Leo, Arthur & George is a REALLY common pairing for sibling here but I do like Arthur.

Yerto · 21/06/2024 16:31

I like Nye, but if it is short for something rather than a full given name. Leo & Arthur are both fine names, but very popular.

GoodVibesHere · 21/06/2024 16:38

Leo

Moreteaandchocolate · 21/06/2024 19:17

My son is called George and if I’d had another boy he would have been Arthur :)

CharlieBalf · 21/06/2024 19:32

Arthur and George sound like they fit well together.
I also like Leo and George, is Leo short for anything?

rebecca100 · 21/06/2024 19:35

My partner is called George and our baby is Arthur ☺️

Speaking · 21/06/2024 19:36

I've never heard of Nye except as an acronym for new years eve! A sheltered life I lead I suppose.

While popular, Leo is every so lovely.

Other suggestions: Oliver, Sam, Oscar, Hugo

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 21/06/2024 20:21

Arthur

SkaneTos · 22/06/2024 01:40

I voted for Arthur.

I have never heard the name Nye before, but I'm not originally from the UK.

Onelittlebluefish · 22/06/2024 23:48

You can’t name a child NYE - New Year’s Eve!

BoleynMemories13 · 23/06/2024 06:05

George and Arthur are a very classic pairing. Leo is lovely too, just feels a bit more modern as a given name.

Nye isn't for me, at all, and I don't feel it pairs well with George.
