Middle Name Help

MinnieMnotasinmouse · 11/06/2024 13:35

I am going to go through a name change (for various reasons), and have picked the name Minnie, am absolutely clueless as to what middle name to go for.
Ik this isn't really baby name related but I saw how great mumsnetters are at picking names so thought someone could be of help.
I'm really not picky, any suggestions are welcome.

Is minnie short for anything? What has made you choose minnie? It might help with choosing a middle name to go with it

Do you want your middle name to be wild and out there? Or classical and conventional? And tell us a bit about your character, we can suggest things meaningful to you. Easy speller or don't care? long or short?

Dustyblue · 11/06/2024 13:38

I had an Aunt Minnie, but her full name was Minnette.

CarolineFields · 11/06/2024 13:39

or Minuet? Minerva? Clemantine?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/06/2024 13:40

Minnie Louise.

Minnie Beth.

Minnie Rose.

Minnie Grace.

Minnie Loren.

Oh wow. Kind of exciting, kind of surreal to completely pick your own name. I used to think we should all get to choose at 18 but now, idk how many people would actually want to change. Even if you hate your nsme, it becomes who you are, doesn't it. But anyway, I'm rambling.

I suggest:
Minnie Annette
Minnie Alexandra
Minnie Cassandra
Minnie Celeste
Minnie Evangeline
Minnie Estelle
Minnie Francesca
Minnie Giselle
Minnie Genevieve
Minnie Juliette
Minnie Joelle
Minnie Katherine
Minnie Louise
Minnie Nicole
Minnie Roseanne
Minnie Roxanne
Minnie Sylvia
Minnie Samantha
Minnie Tamara
Minnie Vivianne
Minnie Victoria
Minnie Yvette

Minnette that's such a beautiful name, I'll definitely consider putting that on my birth certificate and going by Minnie for short.

Currently Minnie isn't short for anything but another user told me it could be short for Minnette so am definitely considering Minnie being the shortened version of that.
I'm quite a quirky out there kind of a person but don't mind whether my name is traditional or not as long as it has a unique memorable ring to it, my only preference is longer names.

Minerva Eliza - Minnie Mouse’s name!! Depends on whether you like Disney or not :)

CarolineFields · 11/06/2024 14:41

Andromeda? (neighbouring galaxy)

Ealswitha? Queen of Alfred the great, and ancestor to everyone in UK, or a slightly later queen Ælfgifu, handfast queen of King Canute?

Or how about going for a British hero, even if the name is male? Newton? Farraday? Hawking?

I am assuming you are British, but of course you might not be, and there might be people in your own history and culture you would like to honour, or maybe someone in your family?

I am enjoying this! If I changed my name now, I think it would be Farraday Aethelfaed, and I would use Farah as a day to day name

How long is your surname in terms of syllables? If its 3/4 syllables, in 'general' a shorter middle name complements it better. Obviously depending on the sound too. I wouldn't have a rhyming name like Minnie Winnie Surname.
99% of the time, you don't use the middle name, but also check the initials it will spell with your surname.
Any inspiration from a place you have been, nice holiday, relatives name?

Coralie
Scarlett
Viola
Brooke
Ferne
Briar
Ivy
Cleo
Grace
Layke
Daisy
