Maggie, Cassie, or Lillie??

The full names for these will be Magdalena and Cassandra, and I really like the nicknames I just cannot choose! I have a daughter already named Elizabeth that we call Lizzie. Which do you guys prefer and which goes better with Elizabeth/Lizzie?? Lizzie and Maggie or Lizzie and Cassie?

Whichever you pick, and I like both, have you considered that both names have loads of great options for shortening & your DD might choose a different one?

I’ve got a long name with options & I used 3 or 4 different ones as a kid before going back to the whole thing as an adult.

Edited to add that I’m not suggesting you should just give your DD your chosen short version as a name - long ones are much more fun!

Cassandra.

JimNast · 08/06/2024 18:24

Cassie. Lizzie and Maggie a bit royal family-ish. Smile
I like all the names.

Moreteaandchocolate · 08/06/2024 18:56

Cassie is my favourite- it sounds fresh and friendly to me and suits all ages from kids, teens to adults.

wafflesmgee · 08/06/2024 18:59

I love Maggie, cassie reminds me of a mean girls character, very blonde flicky long haired kinda name for some reason

AngelDelightButNotStrawberry · 08/06/2024 19:00

Cassie by a million miles.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/06/2024 19:15

You can hardly have Lillie if you already have Lizzie.
I prefer Cassie

Firsttimebabymummy · 09/06/2024 01:22

Cassie

DramaAlpaca · 09/06/2024 04:21

Cassie.

Maggie, to me, is hard and ugly, though Magdalena is beautiful.

Dustyblue · 09/06/2024 05:20

Love Cassandra / Cassie

Elizabeth & Cassandra are lovely together too.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 09/06/2024 09:10

Cassie is really nice and Cassandra sounds classy. Lillie doesn’t really work with a Lizzie. Don’t particularly like Maggie. For Magdalena I would probably use Lena but find the full name a bit of a mouthful

Violet17 · 09/06/2024 09:23

I like the full name of Magdalena better than Cassandra but prefer Cassie to Maggie.

Lizzie and Lena sounds better to me also than Lizzie and Maggie.

Lizzie and Cassie is ok but I am not a big fan of all names ending with the same sound.

SkaneTos · 09/06/2024 22:56

You also mention the name Lillie. Is that one of your options, too?
In that case, is Lillie the full name, or is it short for something?

GreySweater · 09/06/2024 22:59

Maggie is just the sweetest name! Love it!

Moveoverdarlin · 09/06/2024 23:00

I would assume a child called Maggie was short for Margaret, which I think is bloody awful for a lovely little baby.

I actually know a baby called Maggie (just Maggie, not sure for anything), her father is a huge Simpsons fan and he’s an utter bellend.

bloodyeffinnora · 09/06/2024 23:08

love the name Cassandra and Cassie

kanet · 09/06/2024 23:51

Cassie is best IMO.

Lillie is very close to Lizzie and also will be spelt Lily or Lilly all the time. So I wouldn't use it.

Santasjingleballs · 10/06/2024 00:12

Magda is short for Magdalena not maggie

Duckies · 12/06/2024 20:27

I voted Magdalena but Cassandra is also great. Love Cass

Treestumpp · 13/06/2024 22:58

Cassie is more of a dog's name so I'd go for the other.

Liv999 · 14/06/2024 07:59

Cassia, Magdalena is too much of a mouthful and Maggie is awful

GoodVibesHere · 14/06/2024 08:04

Maggie is very sweet but it's a nn for Margaret. Magdalena is usually Magda.

Other ideas might be:

Penelope / Penny
Abigail / Abbie

miniaturepixieonacid · 14/06/2024 09:53

Cassie by a long way.

Magdalena is nice enough but I really don't like Maggie. Cassandra is beautiful and elegant.

user1492757084 · 14/06/2024 11:31

Cassandra

Treestumpp · 14/06/2024 13:10

Cassandra is forever associated with Only Fools and Horses.
