Séamus

I posted a few weeks ago and got great help from loads of people.

I think we have decided on Séamus, little Séimí (Shay-me).

Our other DS is Pádraig. A lot and I mean a lot of names are gone between both sides of the family. Also we didn't want anything too popular. It looks like Séamus or Seamus has never made it to top 50 on the CSO.

Both Irish and live in Ireland

Is it a little bit old man? We love it and keep swinging around it it now.

There are so many different spellings so all added up Séamas, Séamus, Seamas, Seamus, Seimi, Séimí probably more popular than a quick look at the stats can tell you.
Dont think it matters either way, it's a classic.

I really like Séamus and think it goes perfectly with Pádraig.

True, but I don't think I know any Seamus's of any spelling. I had a gran uncle in law called Seamus. And there was a very good looking one at college!

I think they do sounds good together. That wasn't one of our criteria at all. It is possibly a bit 'old man' compared to some of the Irish names that are popular now but he can be little Séimí to us and Shay in school if he wants. Or Séamus

That is the correct place for the fada?

Just a heads-up if you ever bring little Séamus to Italy.
It sounds very like “scemo”, the Italian for idiot. Plural “scemi”, pronounced…Séimi.

@Sgtmajormummy we went to Italy last year and loved it so there is a fair chance we'll go back. Lol they'll think we're awful parents 😂

I love it in all its forms of Seamus, Shamie and Shea / Shay. Great choice. 😊

It’s a classic.
