Evelyn Jean.

Jean is a family tradition and I love Evelyn. Which could be shortened to Evie. Dh doesn't like it at all but he he likes Ava which I think is too short.

Anybody know any similar names?

Ds is called Freddie and I know some people say you should check them together to see if they work.

I like Eve, Ava and Evie, but sorry, I don't like Evelyn. It doesn't matter what I think, it's your baby, but you do need to find something both you and DH like. Not easy IME!

It was easy with ds. I have only just found out so we have a while to find something.

Really nice, cant go wrong really

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 06/04/2008 14:55

Lovely names!

MrsBadger · 06/04/2008 14:56

Evelyn is excellent, best longie for Evie imo

janeite · 06/04/2008 15:09

I like Evelyn but not with Jean - it sounds a bit too "rhymey" to me. Evelyn Jane has a similar impact without the repeated "Eeee" sound and "N"

kayzisexpecting · 06/04/2008 15:12

But it has to be Jean. I cant break a family tradition and I don't want to.

Or you could pronounce Evelyn 'ev-a-lin' instead of 'eevlin'.

MrsMattie · 06/04/2008 15:14

I like it.

kayzisexpecting · 06/04/2008 15:17

I pronounce it 'ev-a-lin' and dh pronounces it 'eevlin' so that could be the problem.

Sorry, missed that bit. Evie Jean works as, although it repeats the "E" it doesn't repeat the "N" as well iykwim. Having said that, middle names don't really get used do they, so it's not a problem anyway; I was just being picky!

kayzisexpecting · 06/04/2008 15:23

No its not going to be used except when telling people her name. I've got 8 months to try and persuade dh.

I think its a lovely name! Very cute for a baby and works equally as well for a grown up.

Lovely
