Are there any different ways to spell Lyla you think is better? Or would you just stick to Lyla. Also looking for any middle names that might go with

All I can hear is the Oasis song sorry. Confused

I think you could spell it either Lyla or Lilah. To me Lyla looks nicest though!

Lyla, Lila, Lilah (assuming you’re pronouncing lie-la rather than lee-la)

I like that Lyla makes the Lie-la pronunciation clearer.

There are so many middle names that could go! What other names do you like?

I like a one syllable middle name after Lyla

Just makes me think Liar.

Lyla is lovely, although personally I prefer the spelling Lila. There's also Lilah, but the h feels pretty pointless to me. It's ok as a nickname for Delilah, but I don't like this spelling for a stand alone name.

I sometimes see people say Lila would get pronounced Lee-la as Mila is Mee-la but I've heard a few people pronounce Mila as My-la anyway, and Milo is definitely My-lo so I don't think it would be a major issue. The only 2 Lilas I know both spell it with an i and I never hear anyone try to call them Lee-la.

Lyla is a lovely name - simple and pretty for all ages. I like the spelling Lyla as it’s obvious how to pronounce it. I know two Lila’s - one pronounced Lyla and one pronounced Leela.

Lyla

Anything but Rose/Grace/May because every girl has them and they’re as dull and overused.

DuchessOfSausage · 21/05/2024 12:09

Lyla is similar to a lot of other names that are currently popular - Lyla, Lyra, Isla, Layla, Lily, Lola, Delilah etc.
It has three different spellings in use - Lyla, Lilah and Lila

Most of them will probably have popular middle names like May, Grace and Rose, or a filler one-syllable middle name like Jane, Anne, Joy, Hope, Rae.

If your surname is a common one, pick an unusual middle name.

I'd go for a name that's not part of a current trend, as I think it will date, but that's me.
