on names being reused in families, I would like to use a name with meaning its a family name for me but there is already a variation in the family, not my side.
Children would have different surnames and attend different schools but would be together at family events
the children will have different nicknames

I think this would be fine. Given that they’d go by different nicknames I don’t see an issue.

Go for it.

I think it’s fine :)

If it’s a family name and they are going by different nicknames then no problem

I think it depends on the name and how closely they are related. Teddy and Eddie would be fine. Frank and Fran/Frankie a bit too close for the children of siblings.

I think that's completely fine!

In my family we have cousins born the same year with almost the same name, and it's fine! One is Christopher and the other one is Chris. Not a problem.

It’s ok to have Tom and Thomas or Elizabeth and Beth in the same extended family.
