Hello, we are thinking of names if DC is a boy and like Nick and Erik. Which do you prefer? Or any other similar short names? Thank you.

They are both good names, you can't go wrong with either so you should feel comfortable go with whichever you prefer rather than what other people think.

similar sounding names could be Derek or maybe Wyatt.

I like both Nick and Erik. Erik might get Eric a few times. I like Nicholas, Nick for short.

Nicholas is a good name, but I wouldn't put nn Nick on the birth certificate.

I quite like Eric and it has the benefit of no (obvious) infantilising nn. But Why Erik with a 'k'?

PieFaces · 10/05/2024 02:54

Eric and Erik are my top names!

PieFaces · 10/05/2024 02:59

I like Rick a lot too which can be short for Roderick, Hedrick, Frederick, Derek

Maverick Mackenzie

I went to school with a Rick, and it wasn't short for anything.

I really like Nicholas nn Nick. I would naturally spell Eric with a ‘c’ instead of a ‘k’ - from someone who’s always had to spell out their own name, please don’t pick Erik!

NetMum2 · 11/05/2024 12:54

How about Michael nn Mick?
or Zachary nn Zack?
