A brother for Madeleine

Any ideas on boys names? We literally can’t decide on one between us.
OH doesn’t like anything too out there or modern like River / Vinnie / Archie
I’d like something slightly unusual.
we went through the whole Mumsnet 1000 boys names and didn’t have a single name we both liked.
Names we’ve liked but have had to discount for several reasons (too similar to our names, or don’t go with our surname):

Jude (but OH said no to this)
Jesse
Clement
Laurence / Laurie (OH hates)
Sebastian - we both really love but it really doesn’t work with our surname.
Zachary/Zachariah (currently top of the list but only because we can’t think of anything better).
Ezra (but middle name will also be a biblical Jewish name so too much bible).

ANY IDEAS???? Before our baby son ends up as BABY BOY forever.

If you both like Sebastian, are you absolutely sure it doesn’t work with the surname? If your surname is Bastian I’d give Sebastian a miss but otherwise I reckon it would be worth saying “Sebastian Whatever” a few hundred times to see if you can make it sound better to yourselves, seeing as it’s the only one you’ve agreed on!

Yes that’s a good plan, as you’ve been through 1000 and this is the one you agree on most. I think it’s a fantastic name and goes beautifully with Madeleine too :)

It might make it easier if the boy's name doesn't have to 'go' with his sister's name?

I'm a Madeleine, I'm an only one though so no brother whose name I could reveal!

I'd go for something with three syllables. Benedict would be first choice for me. We have a Xavier in the wider family and that would work well too I think.

If you liked Sebastian could you Frenchify it to Sebastien? It would complement Madeleine.
