What is Hazel’s brother called?

Due with DS next week, can’t agree on a name! DD is Hazel. Current options are James/Adam/Isaac, but I’m not set on any of them. Worried the first two are too popular and don’t want Isaac to turn into Zack! Any suggestions appreciated!

Nice list, I like quite a few biblical boys names. How about:

If you choose Rowan, you’ll need to pronounce it like the tree not like Rowan Atkinson.

Are they not both Roh-un?

A Hazel I know has brothers James and Alastair

maisiedaisy64 · 08/05/2024 13:09

Love Callum but a family member has used it!

I do like Rowan, but the pedant in me them feels any future DC would also need tree themed names and I’m not sure on that!!!

thanks everyone, some good ones here definitely. And for also reassuring me re James/Adam/Isaac

The tree is row-like-an-argument not row-like-a-boat.

FarmersWife3 · 08/05/2024 13:13

Rowan, Oakley, Ash(ley) (stick with the tree theme?)

I think that might be American? I've only ever heard the tree pronounced row like a boat.

bridgetreilly · 08/05/2024 13:14

No, it’s British.

I have a Hazel and James ❤️❤️

others on the list were Rory, Murray and Barney - the last one was DH’s choice Hmm

I love Rory! It goes nicely with Hazel too, I think.

No, it’s British.

I've been googling to see if I'm wrong as I've always heard it pronounced as a boat sounding rowan in England. I've found one example of your way saying it's Scottish (and other places saying that's not Scottish!) but everywhere else gives the boat version as English (Cambridge, Oxford, Collins dictionaries) from what I've seen.

Has to be Rowan.
Or possibly, Brazil.

StopGo · 08/05/2024 13:29

Aspen, Ash or Rowan
