I like it! It's a good name.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 06/05/2024 20:30

I love it, the only dilemma I would have is whether to use the nickname Albie or Bertie as I really like both.

EmpressaurusOfCats · 06/05/2024 20:30

I’ve just seen someone on another thread talking about Only Fools and Horses so that’s the first Albert that springs to mind.

Picklesjar20 · 06/05/2024 20:32

Thats the name ive picked for my boy due in few weeks 😂 so obvs love it.

Im going for Albie nickname, but gramps is adamant hes calling him bertie.

Vettrianofan · 06/05/2024 20:33

Met one years ago, he will be a teenager now.

Moreteaandchocolate · 06/05/2024 20:34

Great name - it’s got a gorgeous vintage feel and I love Albie as a diminutive.

Whatisityoucantface · 06/05/2024 20:40

It’s great. Many people think so because I know a good few little boys called Albert - Albie or Bertie for short

SpeedwellBlue · 06/05/2024 20:40

Very nice.

Nicebloomers · 06/05/2024 21:11

Excellent name.

passthehobnobsplease · 06/05/2024 21:12

I know a few. It's a nice name

BoleynMemories13 · 06/05/2024 21:31

I'm not a fan of the full name if I'm honest. I find it very formal. The nickname potential of either Albie or Bertie is a positive though.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 06/05/2024 21:40

Not my cup of tea personally. Prince Albert ( and the piercing) or Uncle Albert on Only fools and horses. The only thing that’s quite nice about it is the nn Albie.

But if you want Bertie then classic Robert is nicer imo, If you want Al then kingly Alfred is much nicer ( or timeless Alexander).

JimPansy · 07/05/2024 07:41

I don't like it, Albie or Bertie. Alfred is OK.

mum1345 · 07/05/2024 14:42

I have an 8 year old Albert - he goes by Albie... or Bert..or Albs
There's a lot of nickname potential!

I do hear of a lot more Albies now. I knew of none when he was born! I like that he has the option of Albert when he is older.

RogueFemale · 07/05/2024 18:54

Albert is good. Bertie is good. Albie is AWFUL.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 07/05/2024 18:58

My favourite boys name. Gorgeous and great nickname potential too. Unfortunately it doesn’t work with my surname (so I I have an Alfred instead.)

Roselilly36 · 07/05/2024 18:59

Awful

Albert is good. Bertie is good. Albie is AWFUL.

I agree.

shoopshoopdedoo · 07/05/2024 23:46

Not keen on Albert. I like Bert as a nickname though.

Dododo83 · 07/05/2024 23:49

Love it. And also Bert/Bertie

DramaAlpaca · 07/05/2024 23:54

It's one of those boys' names where I really like the full version, but strongly dislike all the diminutives. I'd only be able to use it as a middle name for that reason.

Amongst the many names I feel like that about are Patrick, Edward, Francis, Alfred and Joseph. It made choosing first names for my three sons quite difficult, but middle names were easy enough.
