Robyn for a girl. Due christmas. Too American? Too chavvy with the "Y"?
Too obvious for christmas baby?
Opinions?

I prefer it just Robin. It's going into chav territory with that Y.

I quite like Robin though. Can NOT be shortened though............

I think it sounds a bit dated like say Dawn to the American ear. .

Told my DH I liked Robyn with a Y. He said, "What, Yobin?"
Ha Ha

I like it. No good for me though as our surname starts & ends in 'N'. Also no good if your surname is Banks

Robyn = girl
Robin = boy

IMO.

Robin can definitely be shortened.

Dd goes to school with a Robin. She's 6 and already variously known as Rob, Robs, Binnie and Bins.

It would be a bit too obviously Christmassy for me, I think.

I know sisters called Robyn and Holly and neither was born at Christmas!
