Can you help? I have a friend who wants to name her baby Davina but she can't think of a middle name. Please share some ideas.

McCall

I think it should be one syllable name as it's quite a mouthful. Hecates grace and rose are good

Davina Jane
Davina ..... I have no imagination, can't think of anymore!

cyteen · 02/04/2008 17:12

I can't think of anything that would redeem Davina. Sorry!

Rosbo · 02/04/2008 17:16

Davina...well....each to their own I guess

how about Davina May?

llareggub · 02/04/2008 17:18

Davina Speaking

TwoFirTreesToday · 02/04/2008 18:33

Davina Colette
Davina Henriette
Davina Claire
Davina Elodie

What about calling her Megan Rose and forgetting about Davina altogether!!!

But if she has to

Davina Jade
Davina Louise
Davina May
Davina Frances
Davina Anne
Davina Rose
Davina Elizabeth

MegSophandEmma · 02/04/2008 18:37

Davina Marie

vicsta · 02/04/2008 18:44

Davina May, Davina Leigh? Not wanting to cause any offence here, but a friend of a friend at University who I met only once was called Davina. Never forgot her coz she was known as Div or Divvy!

TheDevilWearsPenneys · 02/04/2008 18:45

She should be aware it will be shortened to dav, then probably div at school.

Try to make her rethink.

EyeballsintheSky · 02/04/2008 21:58

My cousin is Davina otherwise it would have been on my shortlist for dd, love it. Not sure what her middle name is though. Davina May/Marie sounds lovely though.

hungrypanda · 02/04/2008 22:08

Devil, so far she's really insisted on the name Davina. There must be another way to shorten it. Dav and Div are hideous.

I quite like Jade and Nicole. I like Elodie as well but if you say it quickly it will sound like Davinelodie..... Now that's an unusual name!

If they can't think of a middle name, then there isn't a name they are really wanting to use, so why bother with a middle name?

DS hasn't got a middle name (we couldn't think of one), I haven't got a middle name.

Never bothered me at all.

InATizz · 02/04/2008 22:16

There's a bitch in dh's office called Davina....

The other other davina I know pronounces her name like daveena... she pronounces her daviiiiiina... & will bite your head off for wrong pronunciation.

freddy16 · 22/03/2020 08:16

I have mixed feelings about Davina. It is beautiful sounding, but I like names that have the versatility to be shortened into a worthy abbreviation. Judith/Jude, Samantha/Sammy/Sam, Emily/Em. For me Davina is perhaps about its pronunciation, as Dav(e)ina, sounds lovely and can be Dave. It is feminine and pretty is Davina, with the Da pronounced like Da(vid).

Ricekrispie22 · 22/03/2020 08:48

Personally I would go for Davina Nina, but if she doesn’t like it:
Davina Beth
Davina Kate
Davina Scarlet
Davina Lucy
Davina Beatrice
Davina Robin
Davina Poppy

KittyJune · 22/03/2020 09:59

Whatever middle name she goes for, I think she should use it as the first name and lose Davina.

MikeUniformMike · 22/03/2020 17:46

Not Grace, Rose or May. Too overused.

Dee, Day or Di or Dina as short forms.

Wonder why this post of 12 years ago has been resurrected?
