What do you think of Eloise and Harper?
Combination Eloise Harper or Harper Eloise?
Are they trendy? Pretty? What you like to have one of these names?

I love the name Eloise!! So pretty!!

mycatsanutter · 27/04/2024 17:52

I love Eloise , definitely have that as a first name

takemeawayagain · 27/04/2024 17:53

I much prefer Eloise.

mycatsanutter · 27/04/2024 17:53

It might get shortened with it having 3 syllables but I would still use it.

BotterMon · 27/04/2024 17:54

Eloise is lovely; Harper is awful - makes me think of a harpy which is definitely not a nice person. It's also very Beckham wannabe.

Moreteaandchocolate · 27/04/2024 18:03

Eloise is a lovely classic - I’d definitely be happy to be called it.
Harper is nice and simple with a trendy feel (to me) but I don’t think I’d like to be called it personally.

Eloise Harper is lovely.

Whiskeypowers · 27/04/2024 18:06

I wouldn’t put those two names together as a combination. Eloise is lovely

Nicebloomers · 27/04/2024 18:09

I echo the previous posts. Eloise is classic and timeless, Harper seems a bit trendy and American in comparison.

Sunnnybunny72 · 27/04/2024 18:11

The names clash a bit.
Eloise is lovely. Sweet and pretty. Harper not so much.

HappyMe6 · 27/04/2024 18:11

Eloise is lovely, harper I’m not a fan of at all

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 27/04/2024 18:11

Eloise is lovely, Harper is awful.

MissHavershamReturns · 27/04/2024 18:13

Dislike Harper and doesn’t go with Eloise, which is lovely

MediterraneanPrincess · 27/04/2024 18:27

Thank you everyone. If you had to chose between Eloise and Athena instead, what would you choose?

Eloise :)

Thorfire · 27/04/2024 18:51

Harper Eloise is lovely

Nicebloomers · 27/04/2024 18:59

Athena just because there are a LOT of Elllies around and Eloise will probably get nicknamed it. I do think Eloise is a lovely name though. You might not care about the Ellie thing.

shoopshoopdedoo · 27/04/2024 19:09

Athena. I can’t get on board with the love for Eloise at all, for some reason. I think I just find it a bit frilly and sort of cloying to say. I don’t know why - I love Louisa, which is similar. But I prefer Eloise to Harper.

BoleynMemories13 · 27/04/2024 19:20

Eloise is lovely and traditional whereas Harper is the epitome of trendy. It's everywhere since the Beckhams used it and I think it will date badly. It's really not nice to my ears, sounds like you're talking about someone harping on. Every other under 5 around me seems to be called Harper right now so I'm pretty sick of it. Sorry.

Eloise also trumps Athena by some distance for me. Athena is a bit too try hard. Thea is nice but I really wouldn't want to be called Athena.

theduchessofspork · 27/04/2024 21:39

Athena - elegant, a lovely history and not overused. I slightly prefer Athene (Ah-thee-nee) though.

Eloise - lovely but high chance she’ll end up Ella/Ellie, of which there are far too many

Harper is very Hello mag, will date horribly, don’t

DramaAlpaca · 27/04/2024 21:50

Eloise is very pretty but a bit frilly for my taste. It's by far the nicest of the three names though.

I don't get the love for Harper, it's strikingly unattractive to me.

I don't like Athena either, sorry.

INeedToClingToSomething · 27/04/2024 22:42

Athena just makes me think of the shop.

Love Eloise and Harper. Eloise Harper sounds better than Harper Eloise imo.

songaboutjam · 27/04/2024 22:58

Eloise is my favourite by far. Harper sounds a bit American and Athena is more of a cat name, IMO.

Just be aware people will call her Louise a lot and will struggle to spell her name!

Moveoverdarlin · 27/04/2024 23:00

Harper is a bit chavvy. Eloise ok, but 10 years ago there were loads of them. I love Athena.

Heatedblanky · 27/04/2024 23:04

I love Eloise and I think Eloise Harper works fine (although Harper is not a nice sounding name to my ears - harsh/harpy vibes to be honest). Athena just makes me think of posters.

35andThriving · 28/04/2024 11:05

I like Eloise. I do think it's experiencing a massive surge in popularity right now, which hasn't become apparent yet because the baby name data hasn't been released.

I love Louise personally too.

Athena, I'm sort of put off of because it is a name used in the current Gladiator lineup, and I think it will make people think of the name and use it for their babies too...Basically, I think Gladiators will cause a surge in popularity.
