LordGodAlmighty · 01/04/2008 18:45

She mad lady.

MrsMattie · 01/04/2008 18:48

Willow Wylie...pantomime name! Hilarious.

3andnomore · 01/04/2008 18:51

Whilst I kinda like the name Willow...I don't think it works well with Wylie.

Tutter · 01/04/2008 18:53

WanderingTrolley · 01/04/2008 18:53

Tell her not to do it.

Sam100 · 01/04/2008 18:54

Or Riley if its a boy.

PeggySioux · 01/04/2008 18:57

I think it's fine.

WanderingTrolley · 01/04/2008 19:02

Oh dear - Peggy are you the friend?

Buda · 01/04/2008 19:05

NO! She can't do it. Far too many Ws.

A friend has just called her DD Willow and I like it but it doesn't work with Wylie.

LarryVeestAdamAntSpawnChorus · 01/04/2008 19:06

TBH honest I think you're being a bit rude putting her surname as well as her daughter's prospective name on here. I'd be pretty pissed off to think I was being talked about so openly. Unless of course you've warned her that you've put her daughters full name on the internet for ridicule constructive criticism?

LarryVeestAdamAntSpawnChorus · 01/04/2008 19:07

daughter's

VerJaiNah · 01/04/2008 19:09

How about Hazel, or Rowan?

Or if it's a particularly refluxy baby, Sycamore

Difficult to find a name that does sound that good with Wylie though

What abut Coyote?

PeggySioux · 01/04/2008 19:25

No, I'm not the friend.
I just suffer a sense of humour failure when people laugh at names that other people have chosen.

MadameCh0let · 01/04/2008 19:32

I don't like it but I don't hate it. I hate it with Wylie though!

I know a Willow, sister Bailey and tbh, I think the impression it gives is of a chav family who watches too much tv, but the family is not like that at all.

Willow Wylie is AWFUL.... Much worse that Moses Martin! (Gwyneth Paltrow's son).

LarryVeestAdamAntSpawnChorus · 01/04/2008 20:38

To the OP - unless your friend has asked you to start this thread, I would ask for it to be deleted.

pointydog · 01/04/2008 20:51

Why are people so defensive about names on a message board? It's not as if we are personally attacking anyone. We don;t really know anyone's names.

LarryVeestAdamAntSpawnChorus · 01/04/2008 20:52

So you wouldn't be bothered if your friend posted your name on here, esp on a thread with dubious intentions?

Chuffinnora · 01/04/2008 20:55

I agree Larry - posting the potential full name and inviting people to judge is fine if it's your baby but I think you are mean to start this thread.

Chuffinnora · 01/04/2008 20:57

There was a situation very recently on here when a sil invited MNers to comment on a potential name and the mum found out about it and was very hurt.

pointydog · 01/04/2008 21:00

oh I see, the whole name of someone else's child. Yes, a bit mean.

Nighbynight · 01/04/2008 21:11

It is very rude to laugh at anyone's name, and hurtful too. I cringe when people post on mn "I know someone called..." cue laugh at ridiculous name.
