naming dispute

I'm not one for choosing really strange names, but the DP has really boring taste in names. Girls names are a real problem, he only wants Elizabeth or Catherine or something similar. I like names that are quite traditional but not very commonly used. It's not like Im saying I want Beyonce or Aiyeesha or anything. I've suggested things like Eleanor, Cecily, Yvette, Bryony, but he won't have any of them. Oh and any name that could possibly have be shortened to an 'ie' ending such as Ellie, he won't have. v annoying because I won't settle for Elizabeth. Any advice/name suggestions?

What about Elizabeth with Libby or ELiza or Katherine with Katya for short?!

I really like Eliza. My ex liked that and I was going to agree to it and then introduce the nn of Eliza!

I do love Cecily though. That's gorgeous. Won't he go for Eleanor? That's in the same vein as Elizabeth and Catherine I woud have thought.

What about Margaret!? Would he agree to that? Then you could call her Margot, Maggie or Greta. All fabulously quirky and gorgeous IMO.

I love Eve, not so keen on Yvette, but would he agree to Eve, just Eve?

Tell himn Elizabeth can be shortened to Lizzie and Catherine to Katie, then he won't like them.

Lillibet? If it's good enough for her majesty...
I love Libby and Kitty.

I teach an Elizabeth. She likes to be called Ellie! That should put him off. I have to say though, I'm not keen on -ie endings either!

My youngest is a Katherine. We call her Kay or Kitty. My hubby calls her Katie. It is actually quite unpopular at the mo - nowhere near the top 100, and I don't know another baby Katherine! If we didn't call her katherine, we were also looking at Elizabeth... as I also liked Libby.

Look, go for Elizabeth. It's a great name.

It'll be on her birth certificate, her CV, etc.

BUT you can call her any one of nappyaddicts list [too lazy to type or copy and paste] as she grows up.
