Hi

Expecting a boy and need a name that:

  • compliments Beatrice (Bea) Winnie (our first child)
  • Goes with a double barrelled surname (two names, two syllables each)
  • isn't too popular

Shortlist is the following in the poll - let me know your favourites. Or suggest any others

Not Teddy (bear) when you have Winnie (pooh bear!)..
I have a Fynn...
Zachary is nice nn Zac..

SausageRoll2020 · 15/04/2024 16:30

I like Robin and Theodor. Oscar, Finn and Zac aren't my taste but perfectly acceptable, Milo I really don't like, it just feels like a name for a Labradoodle rather than a proper human name.

ClaudiaWankleman · 15/04/2024 16:31

All but Robin are top 100 names, so you could just choose on that basis alone.

Are you Winnie the Pooh fans? You're only missing Christopher to collect the set.

SunSparkle · 15/04/2024 16:34

@ClaudiaWankleman I think it must be in my affection somewhere from childhood but not specifically! I just like Beatrice Winnie as a name, and I separately like Robin. Need a Tigger and Kanga too

I like all except Zac. I voted Oscar. I like idea of Finneas nn Finn with Beatrice, but Oscar is my favorite name and it's short.

pinkmags · 15/04/2024 16:42

I can't see any names to vote for...

But about Beatrice and

Quentin
Reuben
Christopher

FlyingPizzaMonkey · 15/04/2024 18:37

Theodore but Theo, not Teddy.

Moreteaandchocolate · 15/04/2024 18:55

Zac and Finn are my favourites and love how they sound with Bea! Personally I would go for Zachary / Finlay on the bc but fine not to.

Love Oscar and Teddy / Theodore too but they don’t fit your criteria of not too popular.

Milo and Robin are good too, I just think they go a bit less well with Bea, and Robyn is being used more often for girls recently so that might put me off a bit, personally.

Not to my taste I'm afraid. Finn doesn't work to well to my ears anyway, if you were to shout over to them in a park it would sound like "Beef Tin".

I think Sebastian goes well with Beatrice though.

DuchessOfSausage · 15/04/2024 20:50

I can't see the list but:
Zac - fine
Finn - fine. Not keen on Finley
Oscar - goes well with Beatrice
Teddy/Theodore - both dreadful
Milo - milky drink
Robin - fine

SkaneTos · 15/04/2024 23:07

They are all good names. I voted for Theodore.

Anotherillnes · 15/04/2024 23:12

Whatever you choose please make it short and easy to spell if you already have a long surname.

Riverlee · 15/04/2024 23:15

Zachary , nn Zac
Izaac, nn Zac

Finneas - spelt Phineas?
Finn - prefer Flynn

Teddy - every other baby or cockapoo-oodle seems to ge named Teddy at the moment

Robin - quite like, and seen a few baby Robins/Robyns around

Oscar - isn’t this really
