Middle name to go with Carmen?

che222 · 11/04/2024 22:20

Any suggestions for a short girls middle name to go with the name Carmen? Her surname is three syllables long which is why I don’t want a long middle name.

I have been thinking about the name Maeve? Not sure on pronunciation though as I feel like people would say it differently.

Not looking for opinions on the name Carmen so please kindly keep those to yourself 😇
Thank you

Tough, you're getting one.
I like it.
Refreshing change from the frilly or twee names.

Thanks - I should have said negative opinions ha ha. I was scared people were going to be mean!

I like it with middle names that end in a.
eg Carmen Louisa
Carmen Olivia
Carmen Isabella

Yirk · 12/04/2024 07:07

Carmen Rae
Carmen May.
Carmen Rose
Carmen Anne

RandomMess · 12/04/2024 07:14

Carmen Jade

My other suggestions have already been mentioned.

KirstenBlest · 12/04/2024 07:40

@che222 , nah, pick a name from the top 20 or she'll be traumatised about not finding a pencil case with her name on. Smile
To avoid standing out, pick one of Rose, May or Grace as a middle name.

Mumofgirls2017 · 12/04/2024 08:07

love maeve but too many m’s with Carmen for me to flow nicely.

carmen alice
carmen eve
carmen pearl
carmen joy
carmen sage
carmen olive
carmen ivy
carmen iris
carmen lily
carmen elise
carmen phoebe
carmen fae
carmen ava
carmen daisy
carmen juno

Carmen Louise. Or Louisa.

Poor Carmen Miranda. Dead at 46. I've known her name all my life and never thought to find out about her until now.

KirstenBlest · 12/04/2024 08:40

Maeve doesn't flow. I'm not keen on single syllable middle names. I'd go for a fairly regular name that isn't too many letters or syllables. Either pick a name you like or a family name.
e.g.
Carmen Olivia Robinson
Carmen Isobel Robinson
Carmen Siobhan Robinson
Carmen Abigail Robinson
Carmen Estelle Robinson
** substitute the baby's surname

Carmen Louisa is nice

Rocknrollstar · 12/04/2024 09:04

Tosca

Nicebloomers · 12/04/2024 09:12

I like pp suggestion of Carmen Estelle

Carmen Juliette
Carmen Ruby
Carmen Gabrielle
Carmen Simone
Carmen Paloma
Carmen Lucia (I prefer the Loo-chee-a pronunciation)
Carmen Sophia
Carmen Bianca

HoppingPavlova · 12/04/2024 09:29

Miranda

che222 · 11/04/2024 22:40

Edit - should have said the only name we want to avoid is Rose as SILs girls have that as their middle name.

Mae

ttcnumber2x · 12/04/2024 09:53

Carmen jasmine

BeastAngelMadwoman · 12/04/2024 09:58

I like Carmen Jean

Pancakefam · 12/04/2024 10:07

I love the name Carmen. I think one syllable middle names sound like an odd extension of the first name though, whereas two syllable names seem to balance nicely. Lots of nice suggestions here

I think Maeve, while lovely, doesn't flow with Carmen.

Are there any family names you like as a possible middle name? Check if the person is living if they like their name, MIL loves sharing a name with various granddaughters but DM said 'don't use my name, I don't like it'.

Are you Spanish speaking? I know several Carmens but they are all from Catholic Spanish speaking countries so pretty much all are Carmen Maria.

Winter2020 · 12/04/2024 10:37

Also came to say Jade

Pieceofpurplesky · 12/04/2024 11:54

Carmen Olivia dadada
Carmen Elizabeth
Carmen Lilia

It needs a three syllable flourish.
Gorgeous name

wellingtonsandwaffles · 12/04/2024 13:12

nice name! Not really come across it before, maybe something a bit more vowel-ly sounding for a middle?
Lyla
Lyra
Ava
Esme

with a 2 syllable first and 3 syllable last name though , you could also for for 4 syllables and it still have a nice sound pattern eg Felicity

FlyingPizzaMonkey · 12/04/2024 16:28

Carmen Maeve doesn’t flow, too many M’s.

Rose/May/Grace are done to death as middle names. So boring.

I think it needs a vowel type name like Olivia or Isabella or even Felicity.

MrsMitford3 · 12/04/2024 16:32

oooh love @Nicebloomers Carmen Gabrielle maybe Carmen Gabriella?

Ignore the long surname-no one is going to say it all together very often/ever

RabbitsRock · 12/04/2024 16:38

Carmen Miranda is too obvious I think. Another vote for Carmen Maria.
Carmen Mae
Carmen Tia
Carmen Leah
Carmen Ruby
