Boys name with this vibe: sun, ocean, seaside, summer

What boys names gives you these vibes but are also actual names, DH wouldn't go for anything like River for instance as in his words "that's a thing not a name" 😅

I love anything with Celtic or historical links if that helps.

Due our little boy this Summer 🌞

Classical names might tick your boxes- definitely real names, historical links and conjure up sun and the ocean (albeit in a "conquering the world" way rather than a "bucket and spade" way)- Alexander, Jason, Lysander etc.

Thank you! Well they would have needed to sail on the sea to conquer the world so it fits the vibe 🌊

Haha sorry I should have clarified, anything from the UK Celtic nations (heritage links for us) so Wales, Ireland, Scotland and even Cornwall, and with the historical bit just any cool or inspiring names of historical figures in general, not just Celtic history although that's a plus.

Edited

Well, that's what I thought you meant first, but you also say 'sun' and 'sunshine', and the coastal regions of most of the places you are specifying aren't exactly renowned for that. I'm sitting staring out at the sea in Ireland, and it's barely visible through rain! (Also, in a friendly spirit of FYI, Ireland isn't a 'UK nation'.)

I know a little surfer dude who's a brilliant bass player well into his music and outdoor life called Joss . It really suits him I think he's 10 .

I once knew a boy called Nantucket
Who went to the beach with his bucket
When the Welsh heard his name
They laughed without shame
So he packed up his stuff and said fuck it

Sorry should have said UK and Ireland!

I know what you mean haha, my mental vision board was like a lovely Anglesey beach, or the West coast of Scotland etc which I'm sure have some sunny days, as opposed to Costa del sol! 😂

Since you like Fin and Flynn, what about the Irish name Fintan...? I've loved it since coming across it in a Marian Keyes novel years ago.

Crikeyalmighty · 08/04/2024 15:54

Kai means ocean in Japanese and has quite a surf dude vibe.

Historical links- how about Cnut?

I like bodhi - reminds me of the surf film with Keanu Reeves, Point Break
