hi all

I'm due in 3 weeks and haven't found out the gender. I have 3 others - 2 ds 1 dd, 2 b names, 1 g name so leaning toward a g name for next one. the name we thought we loved for a boy just wasn't great in hindsight, (Gregory) so I would be so grateful for suggestions. for a girl I love gia. our ds is called grant, so would need to sound nice together.

short list (girls)
gia
georgina
gloria

short list (boys)
grey
gareth

any suggestions are so appreciated. TIA x

Gia doesn't look like a name to me. Gee-a or Ja?

Do not call your DD Gypsy.

Gareth is one of my favourite names for a boy (because I love Sir Gareth from Arthurian legend.)

I also like Gawain and Gaheris as names (also Arthurian) but they may be a bit too “different.”

Other G names for boys that I like are:

Geraint
George
Giles

Girls:

Grace
Georgia

Georgie is lovely. Sorry but I think Gareth is awful. It seems very dated. I think of a man in his 50s with elbow patches on his stained blazer.

Giles or George are nice for a boy. Personally I think it seems bonkers to narrow your choice down to one letter of the alphabet, just because they have a sibling beginning with G. There are so many lovely names out there and you’re stuck with just a handful to choose from.

Edited

I liked Gareth as can be shortened to Gary so much younger sounding

Gloria all the way for a girl it’s a beautiful name. For a boy please don’t use Gray or Grayson, my cousins son is called Grayson and it’s the dullest most drab name ever 😕

Gia - quite like it but it seems like a nickname to me. Maybe for Gianna?
Georgina - love it. Not sure it goes with Grant but we don't know what your B names are and I don't think sibling 'matchiness' is that important anyway.
Gloria - not keen. I'm very paranoid but, if this was my name, I'd worry that everyone would think that I thought I was very superior and 'glorious'.

Grey - not sure. Doesn't seem like a name. Grayson maybe?
Gareth - quite like it. It is quite old fashioned but maybe it's due a revival. I don't think shortening to Gary makes it seem younger though - Gareth and Gary are both names popular in the 70s/80s.

Other ideas:

Grace, Gail, Gemma, Greta, Gabriella, Giselle, Genesis, Genevieve, Giovanna, Gina

George, Gabriel, Gideon, Griffin
