DH likes it as a middle name.

Which spelling would you choose and why?

Everly

CheshireCats · 31/03/2024 23:03

It is not a name I like at all. But would choose the first spelling if pushed. The second one just looks clunky to me.

LauderSyme · 31/03/2024 23:03

Mumsnet is probably going to tell you neither! I like Everly because the other spelling is a tragedeigh.

dastidlydaschel · 31/03/2024 23:13

Everly.
Everleigh for some reason I'd pronounce as two words, ever Leigh. I suppose because that how it's spelled. Everly has more flow.

Moreteaandchocolate · 31/03/2024 23:15

Everly - a nice, simple and pretty spelling imo.

Sage7 · 31/03/2024 23:16

Everly, the other spelling looks like an insurance company or similar

Houseplantmad · 31/03/2024 23:16

It IS an insurance company name, isn’t it?

SophiaRose35 · 31/03/2024 23:20

Definitely Everly..Everly is the name of Channing Tatum's daughter. Good name!

TiredMum30 · 31/03/2024 23:37

Everly 100%

DramaAlpaca · 31/03/2024 23:52

If you must - Everly.

Ladybird69 · 31/03/2024 23:59

Oh I love the name Everly. If I was having a daughter I’d use it as a first name.

Yup.

I'm in the neither camp.
I don't like surnames as first names.
When I'm having to enter names on data bases, I hate it when I can't tell which name is part of the surname and which is a forename.

That's what I thought! I'd steer clear of that spelling anyhow

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 01/04/2024 00:27

i have a granddaughter Everly and i really like the name (and child).

LaughterLentil · 01/04/2024 00:27

Everlie
Everley
Everlei
Everleigh
Everly

I just can't warm to it, whatever the spelling

penjil · 01/04/2024 01:31

Nope to both.

It's sounds like Ever Ready or Everard.

Very camp and 70s.

Beverley

Cleverly done!

kitsuneghost · 01/04/2024 10:26

Boy: Everly
Girl: Everleigh

Hotpinkangel19 · 01/04/2024 10:38

It's not a pretty name spelt either way.

HurryupHenry · 01/04/2024 10:41

I would have guessed the opposite way.

I don’t like either. Are you American?

SnowFrogJelly · 01/04/2024 10:43

Neither

KirstenBlest · 01/04/2024 11:56

Everly. Not keen on it - too close to Beverley and Ever Ready.

user1492757084 · 01/04/2024 12:42

I'm with Beverley too.
