Hi,

We already have a daughter called Matilda Olive and we are expecting our second daughter. Which name do you prefer? Or if you already have a Matilda and can offer an alternative, I’d love to hear some!

Phoebe Anna
Phoebe Isabella

Esme Anna
Esme Isabelle

Thank you!

Esme Isabelle gets my vote! I like all your choices, but Esme is my favourite of your two first names.

Other names that I’ve heard with Matilda / go nicely with Matilda imo -

Tabitha
Alice
Amelia
Florence

Esme will always get the esmay/esmee pronunciation issues if that bothers you.

out of the two Phoebe Isabella sounds better but I prefer pp suggestion of Alice.

Alice Isabella

I’m not sure that either complements Matilda. But I’d go for Phoebe Isabella of the four.

Matilda & Esme ❤️
Not sure that either choice of middle name flows very well, but still nice names individually.

I’m interested in this as we also have a Matilda and are expecting our second girl. Clearly we have similar tastes, as we are likely to go with either Isobel or Isabella for DD2.

Of your choices I like Phoebe best. Esme has too many pronunciation issues for me. Other names I/we have considered to go with Matilda are Alice (my fave but DH not a fan sadly), Lara, Jessica, Abigail. I also like Rosa and Anna.

Phoebe Isabella doesn't flow very well but middle names aren't used much.
Esme Isabelle has the same issue a well as the repetition of s.
