Another post from me..... Eloise
What are your thoughts on the name Eloise? I met a really lovely baby with this name a couple of years ago, and it's stayed with me.
Would you say it goes well with Noah or too much?
Thank you.

Much better than Aurelia.

I don't love it, but it's perfectly nice and inoffensive.

It’s lovely and goes well with Noah.. but she may well end up Ellie/Ella. There are a lot of those so depends if that bothers you.

I think it’s very elegant, and a name with spirit.

Eloise is a beautiful name and it goes well with Noah.
It was our first choice but the bump turned out to be a boy !

@theduchessofspork I actually follow someone on social media who has just had a little girl called Ellie Beth and I really loved the name when she announced it - we are not friends but don't think I could use it as I've no links to Ellie or Beth and she said it was a family name. So wouldn't mind Ellie as a nickname if it naturally evolved.

A friend of mine had her daughter 8 years ago and called her Eloise. It's a beautiful classy name.

My dear friend was also thinking of her future for a career. She felt it was a timeless name that would always be well received

I agree with her

My name is Eloise - I get called Ellie or Elle. Be prepared to correct peoples spelling and pronunciation though, in my experience no-one can ever spell or say it right 🤣

It's a great name and also an excellent song too! The Damned did it in the 80s but I prefer this version:

I really like it, though I'm never quite sure how to pronounce it.

It's also used in a short story by JD Salinger which I like (Uncle Wiggly in Connecticut)

My 18 year old is an Eloise! I don't think we've ever met another one (but we are not UK based). Her name sometimes gets shortened to Ellie - but mostly she is just Eloise. I still love it after all these years!

It’s really nice and timeless. Personally I much prefer Ella and Ellie in terms of shortenings to Lou and I like Louisa which has a similar vibe, but Lou puts me off.
