Erin, Evelyn (Evie) or Pippa?

hey all 👋

37 weeks pregnant here and decided on a final 3 for our baby girl.

What do you like/dislike, thoughts. Had a few names like Isla and Bonnie (we have Scottish connections) but feedback on those are too twee or too common. And we have gone off them now.

thanks ❤️

Don’t like Erin and Evie - they’re quite common and overused. Love Pippa, I really wanted to name DD it but unfortunately the Italian meaning of ‘wanker’ put me off

Berlinlover · 25/03/2024 06:17

Evie is lovely. I never knew that about the name Pippa 😂

Overthebow · 25/03/2024 06:18

Evelyn/Evie is so popular now I’d avoid. The other two are nice, although now the Italian meaning of Pippa is putting me off.

I love Isla best, from your original ideas - it’s certainly not as overused as Evie / Evelyn, and is a lovely link to your Scottish heritage. It’s a lovely short, simple and classy but cool name, which works for all ages.

Erin is my other favourite from your list - another lovely short, simple and pretty name that works for all ages.

Evie / Evelyn - love but very overused where I live

Pippa - it’s ok but not as nice as your other ideas imo.

Nubnut · 25/03/2024 07:12

Erin is lovely

olympicsrock · 25/03/2024 07:22

Not Evelyn / Evie - it’s two a penny.
Erin and Pippa are ok ( but Pippa is a nickname not full name) . Should be Philippa .
Of all your names Isla is the best.

Dogball · 25/03/2024 07:26

I like Erin best

Thegrassneedsmowing · 25/03/2024 07:27

Erin.

GuessThatGranny · 25/03/2024 07:29

Erin - lovely
Evelyn - I like this more than Evie to be honest
Pippa - it’s in the twee bracket for me

what about Penelope -Penny?

Georgie743 · 25/03/2024 07:30

There are so many Evie's!

Qeswoo · 25/03/2024 07:31

Erin, lovely name!

Elisabeth3468 · 25/03/2024 08:02

Erin. Sooooo many Evie's. I do like Pippa too

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 25/03/2024 08:28

Pippa is rather vulgar in Polish and Italian. Which is something to be aware of if imo.

Evelyn is lovely.

Penelope is gorgeous as well!

DontGiveADuck · 25/03/2024 08:33

There are so many Evies it’s been done to death! With all the Evies, Evelyns, Eva’s, Avas and Ivys.

I like Erin and Pippa. Don’t really hear Pippa that much.

sherman93 · 25/03/2024 08:37

I love Erin! Such a lovely name.

I agree Evelyn/Evie is really common where we are - lovely name though. Also Isla is super common, there are 3 in DCs reception class of 30!

pontipinemum · 25/03/2024 09:32

I don't know any little Evelyn's. That's my fav

KirstenBlest · 25/03/2024 10:33

Erin - not keen, seems a bit nothingy
Evelyn (Evie) - I don't like Evelyn

Pippa - Philippa is nice

Sundaysunshine21 · 30/03/2024 14:52

as others have said, Evelyn is very popular. If that doesn’t bother you go for it as it’s a nice name and works well for all ages, you also have the Evie, Eve short
forms.

I personally really like Erin. It’s pretty but not twee/cutesy.

Not too keen on Pippa, although it’s more underused than Evelyn and Erin. It is a nickname to me though, I think you’d want Philippa or something else more formal on her birth certificate even if she’s known as Pippa.

23NameChange · 30/03/2024 15:00

I have an Erin so it's obviously my favourite! She is nearly 3yrs and I've only met one other so far so whether it is overused really depends on your local area.

user1477391263 · 30/03/2024 15:08

Evelyn and Evie are really really overused and Pippa is a bit twee/comic-sounding.

Erin is nice and there are not too many of them.

Notreat · 30/03/2024 15:12

I don't know why but I really dislike Pippa. Evelyn is nice as is Erin which I think is more unusual

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 30/03/2024 16:06

I like Erin the best.
