Nick vs Luca vs Rafa?

Hi! We are expecting a baby (gender unknown) and have a super long list of names we like. We are pretty settled on a girls name, but would love your opinions on Nicholas (Nick), Luca or Raphael (Rafa). Or any similar names? Our criteria is international and works in many countries so any suggestions welcome.

My favourite of those names would be Nicholas!

Raphael and Nicholas are good names. I think of Luca as a girl's name.

I only like Nick from those 3.

@MumChp , Luca is Luke in Italian and it's popular in the UK for boys.

The last three baby boys born that I know have all been named Luca, it seems to be very popular at the moment.

My favourite is Nicholas / Nick - a great classic that’s currently underused. Luca is also a great name, but it’s suddenly shot up in popularity and so there may be other Luca’s in his class / year. Rafael is also a nice name, and has good short versions and a nice International sound.

My clear favourite from the list is Raphael.

Thank you for the opinions, I really appreciate! I didn’t know Luca was also a girls name. With Nick, we aren’t sure whether to go with Nicolas or Nicholas as a spelling.

It's a common boy's name in the UK.
I think it sounds more like Lootsa in Hungarian and Bulgarian, but the boy's name is Luka.

I like Nick.

Quite like Rafael (more than Raphael) and I like Rafa as a nickname but would be concerned about it potentially seeming a bit pretentious? That might just be a reflection of the people that I've known with this name though!

I would choose Luca out of the 3.

All lovely names, my slight preference would be Luca.

Raphael and Luca are lovely names. I really don't like Nick because the one boy at my school was constantly teased for being 'knicker -less'

And in some countries it's a girl name.
