What about Daphne?

Wondered what people think about the name Daphne? Potentially with Hannah as a middle name.

Not sure if we're having a boy or a girl yet, will find out in a couple of weeks. DS has a very traditional family name (like Thomas or James).

I know a 6ish year old Daphne June. It doesn't really get shortened and it's cute.

Daphne wasn't Darrell's sister (think it was Felicity?). She was the girl who stole and then became Mary Lou's BFF.

Anyway, love a Mallory Towers name! Really like Daphne but my DH has vetoed it 😭

Felicity was Darrell's sister.
Daphne was Sally Hope's little sister - the cause of her jealousy in the first book!

Sorry but I really dislike both Daphne and Penelope 🤣 Both have a kind of geeky, whiny vibe to me ( I think it’s in their sounds 🤔) Although I admit Penelope does at least have 2 nice nn’s going for it in Penny and Nell.

I strongly suspect I’d love your sons name though if it’s traditional along the lines of Thomas or James (William, Edward, Alexander etc) as my own DS name is one of those.

Personally I’d pair a traditional/very classic boys name with a similar girls - so Hannah would fit very well! Or Catherine, Caroline, Charlotte, Emily, Eleanor, Julia, Elizabeth, Sarah, Laura, Rose, Alice, Isabel, Lydia etc

I like Daphne, it seems fresh and different! Not sure if I've ever even met a Daphne. It makes me think of Malory Towers and What a Girl Wants

The designer Whinnie Williams has just called her baby Daphne. I like it.

Loved Daphne and it was very high on my list when I had my DD. That pregnancy was over the first season of bridgerton so I didn't use it thinking it would be really popular, turns it didn't have a huge uptake after that so I had taken it off the list for nothing haha! Beautiful name that suits all ages from toddlers to older women, a real classic
