What names do you think could make the top ten in the next 5-10 years?!

I could see possibly Arlo, Margot, Maeve or Elsie being up there as I'm hearing them a lot at the moment..

I also wonder whether some of the 1940’s names will come back into fashion -

e.g.
Mary, Ann, Margaret, Diana, Ruth, Frances, Jean, Christina, Marie
Robert / Bobby, Richard / Richie, Kenny, Douglas / Dougie, John, David, Lawrence, Peter, Ralph, Phillip / Pip

I feel like Elsie has been overly done. There's a lot of Elsie-May's I've seen in a previous job (worked in a school).

I think names like the following are possibly the future though have been used previously

Lara
Lana
Riley
Winter/Wynter
Willow
Zayana
Kayana

Kobi/Koby
Cooper
Carter
Marvey
Rory
Wyatt

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 01/03/2024 17:28

From the names I'm seeing now, and extrapolating into the future, I'm thinking 'old people' names (as we think of them now) coming back again.

Mabel
Marjorie
Valerie
Maud
April
Linda
Barbara
Patricia

Peter

Yes definitely think we’ll start seeing some of these. Maybe not quite the top ten in 5-10 years but definitely creeping up!

BoleynMemories13 · 03/03/2024 11:57

I'm pretty sure Teddy will be top 10 in the next 5-10 years, possibly Arlo and Jude too.

Girls names rapidly on the rise include Mabel, Maeve, Margot, Luna, Mila, Harper. I'm not sure if any will get to top 10 but Harper would be my bet out of those.

Tbh I can't see Noah, Oliver, Arthur, George, Muhammad, Olivia, Ava, Lily, Ivy etc going anywhere any time soon.

Back in Ireland both Maeve & Arlo are incredibly common and have been for many years - not trendy here in the slightest!
