Baby boy names that go well with surname Thornton

My sister's baby is due in April and they're really struggling to think of baby boy names that are unique or rare that go with the surname Thornton.

They don't know the gender but have pretty much picked out a girls name already but they're really struggling with boys names as the ones they like, Tristan, Aidan, Falon, all end in a similar sound to Thornton and they don't like the thought or feeling of too many 'un' sounds.

I suggested Hugo, Theo, Leo, Xander, they don't like them and they're not rare or unique enough for them... Any suggestions are welcome.

I knew someone called Kingsley Thornton. Sounds nice to me - maybe because he was a nice bloke!

I think classic names go beautifully with Thornton:

James Thornton
Samuel Thornton
Edward Thornton

They really like ghe suggestion of Kingsley!! They were looking for something more modern rare, rather than "older" rare like many have suggested on here. I've literally been screen grabbing and sending her all the suggestions and she's only picked out Kingsley so far and Oakley.

Landon
Wilder
Hunter
Sage
Phoenix
Samson
Peregrine
Easton
Quinn
Knox
Indigo

She needs an American baby name website. She seems to be veering more that way.

I thought this too, but my fear is that uf I have a baby nephew, his name is going to sound like it belongs in a WhatsApp group chat with a Brett, Chase and Chad 🤣

Or if she wants a modern American vibe how about Hunter, Parker or Sterling?

Alltheyearround · 27/02/2024 20:29

Alamanzo

He was Laura Ingalls Wilder's husband when she grew up from living in the Little House on the Prairie! Not sure if it would get shortened though (I do know a lad called Mannie).

Just the first thing that came to mind with that surname!

Thornton is a great name as it matches well with lots of lovely 1st names.
